Popular Post brianvf
NCHC opener for both teams. UMD coming off a bye week. UND coming off a brutal series out east. Both teams have 3-4 records entering this series, but UMD has played a weaker schedule. Two wins against Stonehill and one against UML. James and Shaugabay have 10 of the teams 21 goals. Pionk with 8 assists already from the blueline. This is a huge series for UND. Starts with figuring out if we can get any players back from injury. Getting Berg back (sounds likely) would be massive. Also, I'm really hoping that at least 1-2 of the injured dmen are able to make it back so that we're not forced to play a forward at D just to fill a roster spot. I'd hope to see Hobie to start on Friday and the boys can get him his first win of the 24/25 season. 5

TwamleyShuffle
We’ve had many great teams fail to sweep at UMD, so yeah a split is a safe bet

SiouxForever
0 goals in 7 games for Owen McLaughlin doesn’t help, especially when Jackson Blake moved on. Need this player in double digit goals. Why do UND’s players seem to put up less points than their peers in college hockey coming in from good USHL seasons? I understand UND preaches and teaches a two way game, but this has been concerning for a decade now

His game translates better from center IMO.

SiouxFanSince1990
Sandy has a lot of tape on us. Could be one of those boring low scoring clutch and grab weekends…
SiouxFan100
I thought Midco picked up some of the games at Duluth in the past? Not this weekend it appears.

He's already acclimated to the college game. Other teams usually bring their 'A' games against UND & play a tighter game against us. Plus UND usually doesn't preach a run-&-gun game. Coming into the year, it was thought that this team would have 3 scoring lines.

TrueSioux2000
This will be a sweep. Like someone said, we have to sweep teams like Duluth. It has to be a sweep.
Wilbur
Need to get more out of the older forwards not named James or Jammer. Wilkie, Kunz, Omac....

He’s like the opposite of Berg. Omac does well when he can possess the puck and has the ability to go where he wants…he’s a great skater/passes too. Berg isn’t the greatest skater from what I’ve seen and he’s a shoot first player. He’s the definition of a wing…but he wins draws and Omac doesn’t.

I said in the offseason when we were wondering who would move to the wing out of the centers that Berg's game transitions to the wing the best for the exact reasons you state above.
