Came out firing but didn't get the goals when we had the momentum. Didn't see goals 2 and 3 by them, but 4 was due to Michigan having a scouting report provided by our beat writer regarding zone entries by our star player.

I also think conditioning may be a part of this meltdown.  Mich had way more gas in the tank in the third. UND played faster than them in the first two periods… the third, they were flat footed.

Pyke being out def didn't help.
He usually plays more minutes than anybody on the team.  Then they shortened the bench more with Benoit, so they were essentially running 4 D.

I guess I just meant dumb mistakes consistently. Is that different? Drives by the D and tries a fancy drop pass to nobody in particular. Highest percentage of turnovers leading to opposing goals (I would guess) ?

Tough one to watch…feel like Michigan got some bounces but we disappeared for the opening 10-15 minutes of the 3rd.  Not sure what happened to UND down the stretch but they were never able to recapture the intensity of the last DU series.  This was definitely a winnable game but somehow we come up short again.  Damn.

I know everyone on here watched the NCHC tourney. It didn't fill me with a lot of confidence going in to the regional.

Well I didn't say it but it's probably an accurate way to describe some of the play.

If I had edited that comment for whomever wrote it I'd have used

He also has a boat load of points. He’s high risk/high reward. If you ask him to stop taking chances, the points drop off. Let him play. He’ll likely make the hobey hat trick, so maybe find someone else to blame this on?

Agreed, Blake is the best F and it’s not close. Not his best game whatsoever, but he’s super good. He’ll get a few games in for the canes this season for sure.

Seemed to switch into normal Berry/staff mode the last minute of the first, getting lucky to not give up one.  Had some lulls in 2nd and got incredibly and unbelievably destroyed in the first half of the 3rd.  Two goal deficit brought some effort and urgency back but it was too little, too late.  This is UND hockey now.  One and done.  Eaves 2.0 is accurate.  Remember the Woog days and the golden choker label?
