What a great weekend for the team. DU is very, very good, and DU even played well defensively. The key though was our defensive execution against the best offense in the country. So impressive. The coaches had the team ready to play.

The first half of the year the powerplay was pretty bad. What has changed? On the radio, it sounds like the powerplay is alot better.

Our D really steady on the blue line.   4 shows willingness and ability to bring the puck out when they need him to.  How the staff got this D unit to play this well is a real credit.

An amazing defensive 120 minutes from the D corp.  Persson didn't need to make a ton of outstanding saves like he did against SCSU.
Massive massive last four games against the 2 & 3 teams in the league.
If UND wins the Penrose, a huge reason is due to the last two weekends.

Downside of ASU coming in is fewer of these series moving forward. If Miami can't straighten things out I'd be ok with letting them just leave.

Defense is coming together for this year and future years.  Some good talent coming up on defense.

Setting up their scoring threats in the right spots and doing a much better job of screening the goalie. Gaber on the right side, McLaughlin/berg on the left, Blake floating around. Lots of options.

They swapped a lot of the personnel and where they're playing.
Instead of focusing on Gaber on the right side, they now put Owen and Berg (depending on unit) on the other side so that there's an effective shooter on both sides for both PP units.  Now teams can't just load up the right side to take away the Gaber shot from his office.

It’s so awesome to have a plethora of options that can pick a corner. Gaber, Blake, Berg, OMac. You can’t stop them all

Another amazing stat from this weekend?

UND held the top two offensive players in the country to ONE point all weekend.
A secondary assist from Devine in tonight's game.

Devine and Rizzo were both averaging over 1.5 pts/gm this season and they got a combined one point.
Impressive.

Kunz parked in front taking away the eyes of the goalie is huge too. DU’s goalie didn’t see at least one of the goals each night due to his play on the PP.

The boys seem to have taken a sudden step forward.  I don't know how they managed to conjure this speedy, defensively solid identity all of a sudden, but keep it going, and you can hang some banners.  Looked great this weekend.

Great weekend to pick to travel back to North Dakota. The boys put together a very entertaining weekend of hockey and getting the sweep was a huge bonus. 

Denver is a very skilled team that moved the puck very quickly, but the defense came to play this weekend. Holding Denver to just 4 goals is a massive improvement.
