Women’s hockey has grown in popularity and unlike the past there are a lot of North Dakota girls playing all the way up and through high school But, like UND Football, it would still lose money. Just not as much as in the past

I have said for years that NDSU should go FBS. Now that they have, I wish them well. I will cheer them outside of when they play my Wyoming Cowboys. MWC is a move up. But not even close to elite. The hope for those programs is to knock off a SEC, Big 20, or BIG 12 program once in a while, make the playoffs (probably lose in the first round) or a bowl game. This sounds like small potatoes to some FCS fans, but it is still a bigger deal than FCS playoffs. Thinking otherwise is delusional I still cheer UND over any program, but I am realistic.

Here is something to chew on. a lot of talk about travel costs, facility cost, scholarship cost, etc. how about coaching staff? Wyomng is at tue lower end of FBS, but…the head coach Wyoming head football coach Jay Sawvel earns an annual base salary of approximately $1.1 million,, with his 5-year contract totaling $5.8 million.

UNLV probably would have bailed to the new Pac12, but they may have been told if Nevada wasn’t invited, they can’t go alone. Package deal. Lots of speculation on that.

Do better in the FCS playoffs? Can NDSU pull a James Madison in a few years? Move on already. such butthurt. 😅
