Something about Maggot Arena when UND comes to town, it’s electric. DU fans are kinda annoyed that the UND series will happen while the students are on break. Can sell more seats now to UND fans. That’s what you get when you use quarters instead of semesters 1 Quote

burd Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 A lot to look forward to this year at UND and elsewhere, including the question whether the Big 10 can keep up the pace. Quote

brianvf Posted August 1, 2023 Posted August 1, 2023 UND looking for the third assistant coach to work with the dmen: https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/und-begins-search-for-third-assistant-mens-hockey-coach Quote UND has started its search for a third assistant men's hockey coach. The job was posted Tuesday morning. It will be open for a week. The job posting says it will pay between $90,000-110,000. Quote The job posting indicates UND wants the new coach to work with the team's defensemen. The Fighting Hawks will have eight new defensemen this season — four transfers and four freshmen. Quote
jk Posted August 1, 2023 Posted August 1, 2023 If he wants to step away from a good USHL job, Matt Smaby would fit. 1 Quote
SiouxForever Posted August 1, 2023 Posted August 1, 2023 Alex Bump would be a very nice late additional pickup for this years squad. Could develop him into a nice 3-4 year college player. Saw a rumor tweet that there "might" be interest in UND. Overall, it would make a deeper forward roster and the Seniors minus Gaber have had plenty of opportunity imho... Quote

Now I've got to go outside and work, even though it's so hot. Ugh. Quote
scpa0305 Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 Watching the USA u20 showcase live, fun game. Livinavage is solid. Runs a pretty solid PP. Most likely won’t make the team as it appears that’s his jam. His D needs some work. Quote

If they are looking for a defenseman and to make the next generational leap (Bubs/Dane -> Karl -> ... ) Matt Smaby would be a name to watch for. With the size of the group coming in (only Livanavage under 6') I'd think a large frame guy would be expected ... but I doubt it'll be Mike Commodore, but that would be something to see. Quote
