Frozen4sioux Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Turn the page, who comes in who all leaves. So much in the air tonight. Typing, crying, hope and prayers for the country the school and our team. Quote
as15 Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 So sad, really feel for the seniors (especially Captain Poolman) that came back for another shot at the title. Let's hang banner 9.5 next year. Quote
AJS Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 It'll be interesting to see if having their season cut short will have any impact on a guy who was on the fence. I think it will and more players will return than would have otherwise. My guess is we only lose one player early (either JBD or Kierstad). Quote
Frozen4sioux Posted March 12, 2020 Author Posted March 12, 2020 Seniors who go out as the best in College Hockey Michaud - Smith - Bowen - Yon - Johnson - Peski - Poolman 5 Forwards 2 Defenseman The fence guys: Jr. Kierstad Jr. Kawaguchi So. JBD So anywhere between 7 and 10 spots for the 2020-21 class. Quote
siouxforce19 Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 I cannot even get into a headspace to think about this. Quote

UNDPUCKS Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Where would players leaving early go??? There is nothing to go to. 1 Quote

They would go to the bank with their signing bonuses, and the potential to still burn a year off the ELC. IMO... There will be more NHL games played this season, regular season games. 1 Quote
rochsioux Posted March 13, 2020 Posted March 13, 2020 Wonder how this affects any bonus for the coaches that are tied into how they finish in the NC$$ tourney? Nothing paid out ? If so that would be a bummer for them. Quote

Let’s face it, some bad teams have nothing but time on their hands right now to be contacting free agents telling them they could play if the season starts back up. There will be good teams that will give players a chance to see if they can make an impact as well. 1 Quote

Oxbow6 Posted March 13, 2020 Posted March 13, 2020 The reality is we are headed for some concerning economic times......I won't blame a player for looking to get what they can get dollars wise in this current environment. Who would have thought everything gets flipped upside down in a week. Quote

Theres obviously some reasons for his difficulties and playing time this year. Im hoping its something we all look back on as an important growth step towards his back to back to asterack Natty trick. Quote
cberkas Posted March 13, 2020 Posted March 13, 2020 They have some unfinished business next season after having a National Championship essentially taken from them. Quote
Wilbur Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 Returning the NCHC goaltending champion is a good thing. Shouldn't have any questions with two very capable guys. Quote

LuvHockey Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 If next season begins on Oct 3 (Saturday) then today marks only 200 days until the puck drops! Quote
AJS Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/hockey/5000890-Who-are-the-potential-early-NHL-signings-from-this-years-UND-team I say it every year, but there's such a fine line with early departures that effectively tips the scales one way or the other. Each potential early departure is so important to the roster construction. These are very general predictions in terms of what happens with #'s that leave. 0: Maybe not better record wise, but talent wise will be better than this years team. Would be truly dominant team. 1: On par with this years team 2: Fighting for Conference Championship (Low #1 Seed / # 2 Seed) 3: Look at Year after they won in 2016 -- #3 or #4 seed in NCAA's, Finish 3rd or 4th in Conference Over 3: Fall off a cliff I've been in the I think they'll lose one camp. I just hope there's not more than two. Quote
Walsh Hall Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 As long as both JBD and Kierstad don't both leave we should be in pretty good shape. The (F) group should be at least on par with last year unless there are unexpected departures. Quote
NoDakZ11 Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 Anyone know more about the Sean Dhooghe situation? Wondering if he graduated and is similar to Michaud’s situation, or if he’d have to sit out. Would UND have any interest either way? Quote
