It's funny seeing all the half-baked justifications for why it's different this time, but at least you're willing to admit yours is for hyper-partisan reasons.

That's an interesting comment considering all the BS this country has been put through in the last 6 months but carry on.

Half baked justifications?  I thought people were into the goal posts moving these days?

Any member with an ounce of integrity would not vote. McConnell set the precedent. Trying to fill the seat now that throws all of the "law and order" arguments out the door and would be the height of hypocrisy.

Not exactly the same precedent. Obama was a 2nd term lame duck with a senate majority of the opposite party. Trump is at the end of his first term and his own party has the senate majority. We all know the democrats would do the same if they had the power and nothing in the way to stop it!

i have read some other precedents that I’ll post

Republicans have the power and no rules against moving forward with a nominee. Sounds like a full baked justification

So your kid's principle isn't a believer in masks or the CDC?

Or is he a Pelosi minion the kids are the virus "super spreaders"?

So far, my daughter has been attending school for 3-4 weeks in person and they haven't had any problems with children being the little spreaders.

We also need a full court to avoid any constitutional crisis in the case of a contested election. Dereliction of duty by not filling the court during such an important time....

Yeah.  Just like in 2016.

Effing hypocrite

It's ok Haydouche, rest assured the new Trump appointed replacement for RBG will continue to allow you to identify as a fool.

I see.

Just like you do everyday with no hope of change of that status.

Like is tough in the cult.

it is different.

In 2016, we had a Republican Senate with a Democrat President. --> President is operating at the mercy of the opposite party.

In 2020, we have a GOP Senate and President. Control of the relevant government apparatuses has its perks.

These aren't half-baked justifications, its a fundamentally different situation from 2016. One doesn't need to go to law school to distinguish one from the other. Only an intellectually lazy person would suggest they are the same.

Rule: if the Senate and Presidency are controlled by the same party, they will consider a SCOTUS pick in an election year.

For hyper-partisan reasons I would ask the Senate to confirm someone as well if only to give all the lib media a middle finger.

Before the lady's body was even cold journos were threatening and encouraging riots, destruction, etc. Don't threaten me with a good time lol. Let's get it done guys!

Amy Coney Barrett would be ideal.

More of the <insert short sighted decision here> to own the libs.

What's short sighted about a President nominating a judge and the Senate confirming a judge?

Libs are threatening violence. The only sensible thing to do is move forward and get it done when the other side is threatening violence. No need to be held captive by a noisy bunch of babies lol

2016 the country faced a clear choice as the next nominator.

There WAS going to be a new president. The arrogant ingnorant left ASSumed they had the election in hand.

This year there is a strong possibility that the same guy will be president come January.

Back then a clear choice of elected government was no longer evident, now there is a current and clear MANDATE of choice for who we as a country wanted to choose our justices.

Also this argument the repubs have flipped their position is ludicrous without the equal realization the dems... in this conveluted scenario... ALSO have not flipped their tune. Both have or none have, thats all.

This is a massive difference, if thats not evident to you, again go to your parents and blame them, they failed in raising a competent human.
