That cop with his knee on George Floyd’s neck wouldn’t have been on the force if it weren’t for the police union.  Which party has an unwavering support of unions?  Why are there public employee unions at all?  Isn’t the government the ultimate source of good?  Why would anyone need protection from the government?  Is it hypocrisy to insist others submit to the benevolent will of government, yet feel the need to protect themselves from that very same government by unionizing?  Root cause - a result of that party’s positions - they need to own it, but they won’t.

As a union steward For a public sector agency. I can tell you that there are bad leaders/supervisors and that the workers need representation. The cop in the George Floyd case should have probably been fired a long time a go. Yes.

"Republicans and unions are like oil and water: They don’t go together. Except for one big exception. Republican politicians support police unions and unionized fire fighters too, often exempting them from the scorched earth policies they direct toward other public sector unions, like teachers and government workers."

You seem to have a dislike for Law Enforcement, why?  Look at this beautiful flag.

Yep, rural America and the Electoral College will save this country. The founders were very wise.

I don't have a dislike for law enforcement.  Good law enforcement protects and serves.

I have a hatred of police brutality and abuse of authority.

Those that praise the use of tear gas, rubber bullets and water cannons as the primary response to protests shouldn't be in a position of authority.

Usually they aren't.  But, some crave those tactics above others.  They love it and get excited by it.

They also wonder why BLM has gained momentum in our society.  They make antifa more than what actually exists.  They over exaggerate the danger presented by both groups.  Then, they escalate the violence.  With more water cannons, tear gas and rubber bullets.

Again they shouldn't be in a position of authority.  So, damn straight I speak out.

Brownshirts.  They've earned that title. "I'm only following orders" doesn't cut it either.

So, what is it?

Antifa is scary and a huuuuge threat?

Or, Antifa is pretty weak, look what this common American neighborhood did to them?

Lol

You really don't know what to say here?  I'll wait to see what actual news reports say about this before even having an opinion about this situation.

But, right now it appears that big bad antifa isn't really being displayed here.  Just some opposing small group of progressives got goaded into a fight.

But, we will see.

"On July 12, federal agents in Portland shot two journalists, Mathieu Lewis-Rolland and Garrison Davis, with impact munitions. Lewis-Rolland was shot 10 times in the back and side, all above the waist. Davis was hit in the back with a tear gas canister, which fell into his bag and inundated him with tear gas. He was also shot with pepper bullets and other munitions. Both men were clearly marked as members of the press. Davis witnessed federal agents swinging truncheons as they chased legal observers clearly affiliated with the National Lawyers Guild."

Well.  It appears that it wasn't "antifa" that started the trouble.

What a surprise...

I see you enjoy a good gossip session too.

Maybe we can get this site on the list for the Southern Poverty Law Center.

You folks are definitely heading that direction.  Or, let me guess, they are fascists too?

ROTFLMFAO!

In the meantime, can it happen here?  Has it already?

Here's an interesting read.

Gaslighting the country

Quote

After allowing the rioting and looting for four nights, Minnesota’s Democratic governor Tim Walz tried to blame “white supremacists” and claimed that about 80 percent of those arrested were from out of state. In fact, about 85 percent of those arrested gave in-state addresses. Intelligence reports, detailed by a security expert, indicate that “most of the hard-core protestors in Minneapolis are far-left or anarchists, and that far-right groups have not yet made a significant appearance.” Minnesota’s commissioner of public safety also confirmed that no evidence exists that white supremacists are operating in Minnesota.

The same is true in New York, and likely across the country. Yet media personalities and outlets justifying the rioting—but perhaps realizing that lawlessness is extremely unpopular with the public—then ran with Walz’s baseless claim. This includes MSNBC’s Joy Reid, who implied in a series of tweets that President Donald Trump was behind the riots. Meantime, it is now common for news articles to mention the white supremacist claim in passing. Aside from having no evidence, those making the claims are especially ridiculous, given that they initially defended the looting. Are progressive celebrities like Chrissy Teigen and Steve Carell bailing out neo-Nazis from jail?

Oh FFS. Here we go again.

Fed's Kashkari calls for 6-week economic shutdown to control coronavirus spread

Quote

Neel Kashkari, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, called for a nationwide economic shutdown for up to six weeks to get the coronavirus pandemic under control on Friday, warning that the rest of 2020 could be much worse than what America has experienced so far.

"The next six months could make what we have experienced so far seem like just a warm-up to a greater catastrophe. With many schools and colleges starting, stores and businesses reopening, and the beginning of the indoor heating season, new case numbers will grow quickly," Kashkari wrote in a New York Times op-ed with Dr. Michael T. Osterholm, the director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota.

Kashkari echoed comments he made a week ago on CBS's "Face the Nation," when he argued that "if we were to lock down hard for a month or six weeks, we could get the case count down so that our testing and our contact tracing was actually enough to control" the spread of coronavirus.

The illusion of safety appears to be a powerful drug.

An ineffective mask is still safer on the streets than your desire to spread the spread of covid.

maybe you can provide us the best place to buy a freedom to breathe card. Is KNOX’s marketplace selling these yet?

What is your obsession with masks? Every place they have gone with mandatory mask use in the US we haven’t seen a decrease in spread. This is not my opinion, I wear a mask.

Is it just about obedience with this topic or why have you decided that mask use is the lynchpin here?

You're a special kind of dumb.

You would remove my choice whether to wear a mask and happily replace it with my choice to wear a completely useless mask, and you don't see a problem with that.

The only spread I wish I could have prevented was the spread of your mom's legs.
