Sather is a great hire. I hope it’s a stepping stone for him, will bode well for the program.

Leave the program in better shape than you found it. Confident that will be the case here.

Just strange how Jones wanted more money for assistants, and lo and behold, those assistants get more money when Jones finally leaves.

Not strange at all.  Have to pay for what you actually want

Other Summit members were swearing that UND didn’t have the money for Summit basketball.

Chaves encourages Jones to get out by some way and then increased the pay scale.

Higher salaries for staff was probably part of the hiring negotiations.

Keeping the salaries low for Jones’ crew encouraged him to leave, which is what Chaves likely wanted to begin with.

Chaves was always prepared for higher salaries with the right coach.

It is obvious what they were waiting for.

Well, I'm not sure that @Blackheart picking up season tickets had anything to do with it, but I suppose it's possible...:)

Were Sather's assistants being considered for the head coach position?

Are there any implications for UND and Sather's choices to fill out his staff that come from this?

We should be hearing who he is adding to the staff soon, no?

They may have got a cursory glance but they weren't going to get it over Saul once he expressed interest.

If you read the preferred qualifications on the job posting, they are literally written to spell out the resume's of Stevens and Horstman from Northern State and it will be a pretty decent pay bump for both of them assuming Tom Miller's reported salaries are correct. Their current NSU salaries are public record, so Saul would have had to negotiate the salary pool by more than double just to be in the ballpark, plus I assume their loyalty is with Sather.

Not sure on the exact date of the job posting, but it should be official very shortly after it closes.

The job postings close June 21st and are listed with recommended salaries of $70,000+ and $60,000.

Are they Seniors this coming year.  The article was dated 2016 and had them listed as sophomores.

My bad.  Enderlin has still been on the rise though, because of those twins.
