Sometimes University Presidents need to know when to back off and come back later with a different approach.. The issue now seems to be the bridges were burned. Most donors and supporters don't care that much. If you are referring to hockey donors and supporter you are probably correct, although she has previously stated the logo is a non-issue for her. Doesn't matter where in the arenas they put the logos. We need to focus on success of the programs. The logo issue was settled by the NCAA a long time ago. I think she is smart enough to realize that. Quote

It would be in SBoHE interest to publicly rave about him, privatley encourage him to actively seek another position. And laud him on the way out. Best for everybody, and if KEM really wants this I would suggest ZERO more public commentary and use only back channels. Others dont want tainted meat, lets throw the guy abticker tape goodbye parade and pay some mourners to wail in the lement of his moving on. Quote

Is a UND relationship with Sanford in the cards or is that just not feasible with Altru so close to campus? Either way, if Kennedy is interested in pissing even more people off, he should look into it. We need phase two money and I just don't see where it is going to come from. If they don't have an announcement by this time next year, I see it going the way of Chaves' Gateway project at EWU and phase II of the arena renovation at SCSU. Quote

Don't be too jealous compared to NDSU. While it's true that Sanford Health donated $10M for the BSA renovation, Altru Health donated $9M to UND for HPF. On the other hand, Sanford Health donated over $20M to SDSU($10M for the football stadium, $10M for their IPF, and a good sized chunk of the $6M Dykhouse Center). They also donated $20M to USD for their athletic facilities complex(but not the Dakota Dome remodel, I believe.) Quote

I did have a chuckle about that. With that said: He is right about the State Board. How can you realistically do anything when a) your public reviews have been mostly positive and b) you had a different president in the NDUS that has done worse and you slapped his hand. The positive reviews, which of course drew the ire of KEM, thinking: WTF are you seeing? How does it end? Well, they could do exactly what you suggested a few posts back, but we shall see. The only way I see him leaving is A) he goes elsewhere or B) I'm going to ride off into the sunset. Quote
