Nodak78 Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Starting a thread on Sammy. Here is a couple of articles to read up on their team. http://www.gobearkats.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=92955&SPID=11345&DB_LANG=C&ATCLID=211768271&DB_OEM_ID=19900 http://www.gobearkats.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=92955&SPID=11345&DB_LANG=C&ATCLID=211768532&DB_OEM_ID=19900 Quote

Our special teams need to improve. But, our running game balanced with an well planed arial attack could more than offset the special teams. Quote
Irish Posted August 28, 2018 Posted August 28, 2018 If we spent the off season evaluating what went wrong with a sharp eye and making some adjustments I think we could surprise the heck out of Sam Houston. Even with an average O line our offense could be hard to stop with the weapons we have and a QB with better throwing skills. I am excited and optimistic about this game. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted August 28, 2018 Posted August 28, 2018 The UND defense must find a way to get off the field. The UND defense must force Sam into at least one "Xavier Cugat drive" per quarter. What's that? One. Two. Three. Kick! Quote
darell1976 Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 After today's bye week, Sam plays 11 straight games. Quote

MDtoGF Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 In my q-a with Sam Herder of Hero sports, he brought up some good points on the Bearkats, feel free to read up on them! https://seamoresports.com/2018/09/05/looking-ahead-for-und-football-a-chat-with-sam-herder-of-hero-sports/ Quote

I like his answer about Sam H. going all the way......he pretty much said, "nope", "not physical enough". That needs to be an advantage for us. 2 Quote

Herd Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 Keys to Victory: 1)Pound the Rock, Control TOP 2) minimize the big Play on D 3) Make Sammy 1 dimensional, force them to pass Quote
Sioux95 Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 The problem with forcing them to pass is that then they will pass. On the bright side, after week 1 I feel better about our o-line and Rudy than I ever would have expected. Quote

But im starting to think that Rudy just didnt trust Studsrud's arm. 2 Quote

Fry Bread Posted September 9, 2018 Posted September 9, 2018 I’m feeling good about this game. 3 backs, over 250 yards. Offensive line is maturing, they take it up another notch. D line will eat up blockers. Linebackers will get the captain crunch award. The half step the D backs needed yesterday, will be there next week. Receivers will help sustain drives. Special teams will figure it out, eventually. 3 Quote

sioux24/7 Posted September 9, 2018 Posted September 9, 2018 SHSU is known for high scoring I’m assuming with passing, correct? If so, I don’t know how we contain that unless we get to the QB. Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted September 9, 2018 Posted September 9, 2018 I expect a win. Its time Send a message 1 Quote
Nodak78 Posted September 9, 2018 Author Posted September 9, 2018 Their QB Briscoe graduated. So the QB is new. They Have two excellent WR. Still they like to score points. We will need to give them a heavy dose of Santiago, Brady and JJ to keep them off the field. Also shutdown their running game and pressure their QB. Make a sack city festival in Sammy land. 1 1 Quote
