ScottM Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 I'm not sure if this was posted on another thread ... St. Clown Sports Quote
Sioux>Bison Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Good for them . Colleges focus way more on athletics than they should. Academics should be the main focus. If a sport can not sustain themselves even a little then they shall be cut. Saves the tax payers and student loan borrowers thousands! 1 Quote

The Sicatoka Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Yeah, it was DII, but no school without a television network deal should be sponsoring 23 sports. And yes, somehow SCSU can cut athletics programs and somehow still meet Title IX. Quote
ScottM Posted May 4, 2016 Author Posted May 4, 2016 Once again, this time with "feeling" ... More D2 sports dropped Quote
UND1983 Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 They are only putting $250,000 into six sports combined? If UND cut six sports they would save $3-4 million. Quote
chicofelipe Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 And now they are being sued. http://www.sctimes.com/story/news/local/2016/05/03/hearing-set-scsu-tennis-team-lawsuit/83873872/ Quote

The numbers seem similar. Quote
Siouxperman8 Posted August 2, 2019 Posted August 2, 2019 Decision on SCSU title IX suit. Not good for the admin Federal judge: St. Cloud State athletics fails to provide equal opportunity to women. http://strib.mn/3198usE Quote

More likely than an investment in women's athletics there will be cuts on men's programs to reach the equity Quote
nodak651 Posted August 2, 2019 Posted August 2, 2019 Anyone wanna give a run down of the 3 prongs again? Which does SCSU use? Quote

Shawn-O Posted August 2, 2019 Posted August 2, 2019 20-20 hindsight, the sauna would've been much cheaper in the long run. Quote

northernraider Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 Yet UM-Crookston still somehow manages to hang on to their barely above high school football program. UM-C must have some serious pull in the state Quote
UND92,96 Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 Sounds like UMC is also going to drop football, per another David Brown tweet. Quote
