So lets assess this "sky is falling" start to the season:

UND is 2-0-2

UND is allowing 2.25 goals per game

UND is scoring 3.75 goals per game

UND has eleven freshman on the roster, but so far they look like they belong

UND's underclassman group have drastically stepped up their play from last year

UND's injury list looks like the team roster

The NCHC again appears to be dominating other conferences.

Cam Johnson's GAA in his first period was 6.0, since then it is 1.80 and he is the 19th ranked goalie in the NCAA

Hrynkiw's GAA in his first period was 6.0, since then it is 2.0

The Gophers are 0-phers on the season.

UND is undefeated.

The sky is not falling.  Imagine what this machine may look like when the injuries slow down and we get a chance to see what Tomek can do.

I love Fighting Sioux hockey.  (None of them other pretender names)

That top CBS line was very dominant at times on Sat. night.  Boeser could be the top end scorer we were missing last year.  This will be a fun team to watch!

That has a nice ring to it.

Character.

I have another reason to root for this kid.

Absolutely, working on a Mechanical Engineering degree is no walk in the park. Doing it while playing goalie for the #1 team in the country seems crazy.  Seems like a great representation of what UND hockey is all about, putting the work in when no ones watching and waiting for your shot.

can only assume he's going to get better as he gets more game action too. it's gotta be tough to come in after not playing at all in his career.

"at all in his career"?  I believe he was Canadian  Junior A goalie of the year and has played goalie since he was an atom

Doesn't everyone 's college career start with 0 minutes.

I think the op was trying to say that its been awhile since he's played.....there's a ton of rust he needs to work through. Also, succeeding as an over ager in a watered down Canadian junior A league is a lot different than college hockey. I wish the kid the best, we'll need him for a few weeks.

yes but not everyone's minutes played meter stays at 0 for two years. he obviously had some rust to shake off. i'm not sure how that's so hard to grasp.

These freshmen really are goal scorers, which is something this team has been a little short on lately. We've always had great creators and distributors but these young guys seem to really be able to finish, which excites me greatly for these next couple seasons.
