cberkas Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Time for the excuses why Providence beat both Miami and Denver. Quote
TrueSioux2000 Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 My girlfriend goes to PC...had to root for the Friars! 1985 is a loooooong time to wait for a FF! Good job by the Friars! Go Sioux! Quote
SiouxFanatic Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 How nice it must be for Providence. Got to play in their town as 15th overall seed. It's bull$%!# any way you spin it. Even with them playing there, looked like quite a few empty seats even with the lights off. Sucks for LaLeggia. Arguably the best player in the game for Denver and he took a very bad penalty. Which cost them. Quote
nodakvindy Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 And the secondary market for Frozen Four tickets just tightened a little more. Quote
sprig Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Can't believe they took out both Miami and Denver. They could certainly beat rit or omaha as well and end up in the championship Quote
MafiaMan Posted March 29, 2015 Author Posted March 29, 2015 Think they said 30 years ago was the only time providence was in the ff. They were in the ff in gf in 83 I believe the Friars were also in there once in the 1960's. Check with Siouxman - he was probably there to see it in person. Quote
cowboys5xsbs Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Can't believe they took out both Miami and Denver. They could certainly beat rit or omaha as well and end up in the championship I mean the miami game I could see they were hurting but denver that was impressive Quote

cberkas Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 It looked like the Omaha player was hit more from the side. Quote
UNDBIZ Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 So, why were the 5 minute penalties not reviewed during the regular season? Or were they? Quote
NoiseInsideMyHead Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Looks like UNO must have kept its diving team when it went D-1. Quote
WiSioux Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Thoughts on if the hit in the RIT/Omaha game should be a five or two min? Quote
cberkas Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 So, why were the 5 minute penalties not reviewed during the regular season? Or were they? That was a first. Quote
WiSioux Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 It looked like the Omaha player was hit more from the side. I thought so too but it is a five min major... Quote
SiouxScore Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Don't know why, but I was rooting for the Pios in this one. They got screwed with that laleggia call I was too and I hate Denver. The Laleggia call was terrible refs need to quit rewarding guys for skating with their heads down. Pretty weak that Providence snuck into the tournament and then the committee does them the favor of keeping them close to home but it wasn't surprising at all. Providence definitely having some breaks go their way right now with staying close to home, Miami without a couple key players, and then the major call on Laleggia. Quote
iluvdebbies Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 So, why were the 5 minute penalties not reviewed during the regular season? Or were they? Just added this year....National Tournament games only. Quote

They have called those hits 5's all year, the Providence player was hit in the head with his head up looking forward as LaLeggia skated across his path. Quote
cberkas Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Omaha running the patented UND power play on that 5 minute power play. Quote
SiouxScore Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 They have called those hits 5's all year, the Providence player was hit in the head with his head up looking forward as LaLeggia skated across his path. I thought it was a terrible call he was hit in the head because he was looking down. I just think it is pretty weak to reward a guy for having his head down. Quote
UNDBIZ Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 May be one of those situations where it was the proper call, but a bad rule. Quote
.357 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 The Midwest Regional: otherwise known as The Twilight Zone Bracket. First RIT knocks off #1 Mankato, then they handle Omaha's PP like it was being run by a j.v. girl's squad. Planes may slip into another dimension if they fly directly over that arena. Quote
Godsmack Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Don't know why, but I was rooting for the Pios in this one. They got screwed with that laleggia call Maybe I have my green glasses on but I thought that was a good call by the officials. LaLeggia tee'd the vulnerable player up with a shot to the head. Why do you say LaLeggia got screwed? Quote
geaux_sioux Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Omaha running the patented UND power play on that 5 minute power play. The ol power kill running like clockwork Quote
