SIOUXFAN97 Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 any new news on the depth chart for the o-line... anderson barton boas ?? meehan
JohnboyND7 Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 I was hoping Bubba would go with no logos until players dress for a game. It's a good psychogical trick to build player investment. We did that crap in high school.... Mossy worthless thing ever.
UNDBIZ Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 We did that crap in high school.... Mossy worthless thing ever. Because you never dressed?
JohnboyND7 Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Because you never dressed? It was pointless. Maybe back in the 80s or something it was an honor like Letterman's jackets... We all dressed... Unfortunately. We sucked. Bad.
geaux_sioux Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 It was pointless. Maybe back in the 80s or something it was an honor like Letterman's jackets... We all dressed... Unfortunately. We sucked. Bad. NDSU does it as well.
Bison06 Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 NDSU does it as well. Correct, I agree with the poster who said it can be a good motivator. Not sure if NDSU still does it this way, but NDSU used to have everyone with just a plain helmet during spring ball and fall camp until the spring game and the opening game in the fall, respectively. Nothing wrong with letting players know that your position needs to be earned year in and year out. I like it.
sioux24/7 Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Tom Miller @tommillergf · 2h Writing story on UND wide receivers for Thursday paper. Don't be surprised if team pulls redshirt on Brandon Walker and walk on Luke Stanley How often is a walk-on not redshirted?

sioux24/7 Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Schobert? Yeah I was thinking of him too but he didn't actually end up here.
UNDBIZ Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 One thing is fairly certain. Walk-ons who don't redshirt won't be walk-ons for too long.
geaux_sioux Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 UND doesn't have a long history with pulling redshirts so a list of walk ons to get the shirt pulled probably doesn't exist.
geaux_sioux Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Yeah I was thinking of him too but he didn't actually end up here. Speaking of, he's now up to 240 lbs and will start at ILB. How awesome for him, from walk on to one of their most important players.
UND-FB-FAN Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Schobert? Yeah, he's one heck of a player now for Wisconsin...if only things would've worked out for him to still be at UND...
MoSiouxFan Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 What happened to Fall Camp Notebook No. 12? 1
Teeder11 Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 What happened to Fall Camp Notebook No. 12? They went bowling instead as a team building exercise. Good move by Bubba to keep the motivation high.
The Sicatoka Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 So they went bowling? SO WHAT!!! Fall Camp Notebook No. 12: "Shaugabay started the event with a three consecutive strikes "turkey" but found the gutter in the roll after that. Jake Hanson had the roll of the day by jumping the gutter of his lane and hitting the pins in the neighboring lane; however, he left a 7-10 split which was picked up by Hinohosa, who was bowling in the correct lane when he picked it up." Coach Bubba about the session: "We saw some good things out there, but we still haven't defined our rolling order for bowling league play. We need to keep the intensity up. We're looking for consistent strike-throwers, not a bunch of fist pumpers after leaving a 6-7-10 split." Apologies to Hanson; someone had to do the lane-bounce in this tale.
MoSiouxFan Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 They went bowling instead as a team building exercise. Good move by Bubba to keep the motivation high. Could have at least reported the bowling scores .

We don't use tricks or gimmicks. You are part of Sioux family from day one. We are a team and in this together. Senior, redshirt freshman, super star or backup longsnapper. They are all part of the team. We wear one uniform. That has always been a strength of this program. 1

Would you also say all players are treated the same?
iramurphy Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Would you also say all players are treated the same? No, but I would say year in and year out they are treated fairly. Players everywhere are treated differently. They have to be cuz they have different personalities and abilities. We have had players make valuable contributions to the team that may see little playing time..if you are good enough to go through practice and film sessions and off season training, you deserve to wear the same uniform. Why waste time keeping track of who wears the helmet ND? If you like that sort of thing use the helmet decals for game accomplishments like Ohio State does with the Buckeyes on the helmets.
UND-FB-FAN Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Football needs to start being played so some of these "interesting" discussions go to rest. Eastern Washington opens up both FCS and college football play in general in a week!
geaux_sioux Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Was anyone able to make it to yesterday's practice?
Kap Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I know this is off topic but should there be concern for the 2 open dates on next years schedule?
homer Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I know this is off topic but should there be concern for the 2 open dates on next years schedule? They can only fill one of those dates. From my understanding, if things don't work out with FU, Brian is close to an agreement elsewhere. I wouldn't be too concerned.
