Frozen4sioux Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 This is the type of start to a season that fuels the passion to never let it happen again. Quote
BeazSioux Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Only problem is it did happen before. Remember New Hampshire? Whatever. Great game. Bummer ending. Great season. Moving on. GO SIOUX! Quote
gfhockey Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 I am looking forward to a slow start and going hot in the second half and one fire hak thread to pop up early in the season. Quote

scpa0305 Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 ....and the cycle starts again. Man this run has been depressing. Hopefully all the boys come back...no one other than seniors should be leaving. It would be a terrible mistake by Rocco. Quote
murph Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Thank you seniors for the great memories. Team played great tonight. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 We lose a back-up goalie, a third line wing, a fifth line wing, and a very, very good defenseman. Quote
SiouxForever Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 No. More. Friggen. Slow. Starts. Ever. Enough!! Mid-season slide a few weeks, fine. Here's to something new! 3 Quote
Irish Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 We lose a back-up goalie, a third line wing, a fifth line wing, and a very, very good defenseman. We've been loaded before - other teams will be loaded too - doesn't make me confident. Quote
siouxnatty#8 Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Thank you seniors for the great memories. Team played great tonight. feel the same way team left it all on the ice thanks for a great season. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 We've been loaded before - other teams will be loaded too - doesn't make me confident. There's loaded. Then there's loaded and angry. I don't like to mess with the latter. 2 Quote
Siouxperfan7 Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Alright. I think we could all use a little positivity. Someone want to break down what next years team will look like? Who do we have coming in. Who are our the studs coming back. Never too soon to get excited for next season!! Quote
Popular Post snova4 Posted April 11, 2014 Popular Post Posted April 11, 2014 I realize I'm very new to the board, although I've crept on it for the last two years, so my opinion probably doesn't hold much value, but, I never expected this type of season from this team. Last fall, I didn't expect them to be near the top of the conference, I didn't expect them to make it to the "big" tournament, and I sure didn't expect them to be in the Frozen Four pushing the #1 team in the nation to the final second. In my opinion, this has been Hakstol's finest coaching job of his career. He took a bunch of guys with mediocre skill, and made them play as a unit, and a dangerous one at that. With some of the skill set I hear is coming in next season, and player development from this team, I'm hopeful towards next season. And if they don't hang number 8, I'm still going to spend my money to see them play, I'm still going to watch Ebay for "Sioux" items to add to my collection, and I refuse to be a negative Nancy about the coaches and the players. Thanks you seniors for an outstanding season. 9 Quote
andtheHomeoftheSIOUX!! Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 The defense is going to be fun to watch next year. Quote

It's too bad it ended with a kick to the jewels. Quote
CMSioux Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Welcome - yup you are knew - you'll get pummeled into submission soon enough. As I was driving to work I was thinking to myself I wonder if fans of other perennial winning teams have "fans" that think - this is getting old, this coach can't take us to the top - Red Socks, Yankees, Blue Devils, or do they appreciate that they get to cheer for a perennial contender and winner - which was exactly what Ralph wanted when he built The Ralph - I believe his words were something like, "I want to build a facility that will make UND one of the top hockey scools in the nation, one that is annually in the hunt for the national championship." Personally saying, as a Yankee fan, I expect my team to make the playoffs every year, but to expect them to win a title is too much. UND does this. I want them to have a shot every year. Especially in a one-and-done format like college hockey, you have to get there. Once you get there, it's sometimes just a bounce of the puck, like we saw last night. We're in the hunt. We're always in the hunt. 2 Quote
SiouxScore Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 I would guess we see a roster of 26 players next season- 15 forwards, 7 defensemen, 1 F/D, and 3 goalies. Seniors- 7 Gaarder, MacMillan, O'Donnell, Parks, Pattyn, Mattson and Panzarella. Juniors- 7 Caggiula, Chyzk, Grimaldi, Sanderson, St.Clair, J.Schmaltz, and Gothberg. Sophomores- 7 L.Johnson, Murphy, Ausmus, LaDue, Stecher, Thompson, and Hrynkiw. Freshmen- 5 Olson, N.Schmaltz, Simonson, Poolman, and C.Johnson. Quote
SiouxScore Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Gersich gonna come next year? That is real the only other guy that could come in and it is a possibility as I think he was taking classes to be eligible to but I just don't really see it with the current roster situation. If we have an early departure from a forward then I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Gersich here next fall. Quote
