2016 UND Recruiting

UND Fan

Recommended Posts

A second hand conversation whose source is the father of a kid going to a rival FCS school. Do you suppose he may have a reason to try to steer kids away from the king of the FCS hill? Maybe so his kids school has a better chance of climbing that hill? I think you would have a hard time finding a rival coach say anything bad about Klieman. But you think what you want. My guess if a story came out about Bubba like this from LkvlleNDSUfan, you may refute it also.

This literally has nothing to do with UND recruiting, can we please keep this on topic.

What is common place nationwide? Making anonymous claims about a rivals recruiting habits and saying it has become a pattern? What is the pattern Lkvlle? Enlighten us.

The pattern is what he described before he said "it has become a pattern".  Figure it out.  You have absolutely no clue how a few of your coaches recruit, none.  Some of us actually do.  Is it all encompassing - no.

I know people who have been recruited in various sports at different colleges across the country and this doesn't shock me at all. It is a competitive business and people will do a lot of things that would surprise some people who aren't familiar with the process. I don't even get why this is a big deal honestly.

No, not everyone does it, but coaching has a very short life span and some of these guys will do whatever is necessary to get the guys they want. A non-story to me.

P.s. I have no info on this claim but if it was done or not doesn't matter. Not a big deal either way.

They're still here?  That's the bar?

I don't like wading through all of the back and forth from Bison fans unless it's in one specific folder.  Maybe it's just me.  I also don't like an opposing fan challenging a ND fan about first hand info he has on a ND chat site.  Lakeville is a big boy and can handle himself obviously, but jeez.

Yesterday in an interview not sure which one, I think I heard Bubba mention we have 11 commits this year.  Wiki only lists 10. Is wiki missing one or did I hear wrong.

I handle the Wiki updates and am not aware of another commit.  That would be great if we have another - if anyone knows who it may be, please post it here and I will update Wiki.

Should be a great atmosphere for recruits tomorrow. Anyone know any official or unofficial visits. I'd imagine there will be a few.

looks like Matt Thompson the linebacker from Indiana we offered was on campus along with Isaiah Secrest, the rb commit.

Liam Bell was here:

@liambell118: Thank you to @CoachPaulRudy and the rest of the UND staff for a awesome visit. Congrats on the win! #UNDProud #UNDFB http://t.co/c1lFPMXA1D

Couple pieces on some kids UND is looking at.

6'2 210lbs Twins from Moorhead that run 4.5 40's. Multi sport athletes that could project real well at the next level. Moorhead has a really nice squad this year. Heard Jade Lawrence has looked good for UND so far, wondering if we'll go after a few more spuds this year. Mike Duginski is the other Moorhead kid that might be a D1 player. Moorhead could be talented enough to win the state title.

Article on Tyson Lytle from South. Mentions UND showing interest. Someone from South told me the young man likes UND a lot. Take that for what it's worth.

This is true.

A friend of mine who is an ex-Bison football player and is into power lifting and lifts with Tyson on occasion.

A while back they had a friendly bet and if my friend lost he had to wear a UND Shirt and if Tyson had lost he would have "had" to have worn an NDSU shirt....Tyson won and the following pics have been great facebook fodder.

Looks like an interior offensive line guy to me. I didn't really pay special attention to him when I saw Burnsville play, but he's got a bit of the nasty factor you want in an offensive lineman.

Just an FYI - UND commit Travis Toivonen from Red Wing, MN stats through six games:

33 catches for 758 yards (23.0 yds/catch and 126 yds/game) and 5 TDs. Team is 4-2.

Almost all the balls I saw in his highlights were underthrown - otherwise his yards and TDs might be higher.
