  1. Does the Alerus put together that intro video for the football team too? Because that thing was worse than the sound system. I notice you didn’t say anything about that. And if you’ve read any of my previous posts in years past you would know I’ve been to the Ralph a lot. Used to follow UND hockey pretty closely, may have even been more to Final 5s than you but I guess it doesn’t really matter. And of course your fans are quiet on offense, thanks for pointing that out Captain Obvious. I was just curious if maybe noise from the opposing fans was noticeable and made a difference. It sounded decently loud but I was also in a predominantly NDSU fan section. I personally like seeing freshman allowed on the field and able to participate up close like that. Limit the scoring and you’d see the flags less often Check previous post about giving UND credit, and not expecting that game to turn out the way it did….other than the Bison walking away with a win, I expected that. So yeah, see ya next year. I’ll see myself out.
  2. Please don’t take this as piling on because honestly that is not my intention at all. But the Alerus and UND need to come up with a better intro video and the sound system in that place is garbage. Naturally as a Bison fan and seeing games in the Fargo Dome I’m using that as a comparison, but there is a lot of room for improvement. I did mention elsewhere that your fans brought it yesterday , well done. Those first couple NDSU possessions I was like “Oh wow, this is nuts”. For the sake of discussion, and from maybe me not really being able to tell how loud Bison fans were from where I was seated, how did UND fans feel about the noise NDSU fans created at the game?
  3. Man, it was loud in there today! Great game by UND, not how I thought this one would play out. Just thankful to get out of there with a W.
  4. Haha, who are these "Bison fans" you speak of?!!! I thought Bison fans were pretty accurately labeled as overly cocky and arrogant, something you might expect from fans of a 16 time national champion. I personally always expect the Bison to win. PS: A blackout tomorrow would be pretty cool if you ask me, hope that happens.
  5. Not to get sidetracked too much discussing Bison playoff games on this site, I would say that the single loudest fan moment in recent memory would for sure be the Jensen rushing TD in that 2012 Georgia Southern game to basically seal the win and send them to the natty. But I think the peak for overall involvement and passionate vocal participation from the fans came at a later time, probably even as recently with Easton Stick at QB. The Bison had some pretty classic games with SDSU where the roof came off the place, I can think of a couple when Carson was QB against the Jacks and UNI. Anyway, I'm sure most here know that Waege the DE for the Bison is out for the year with a knee. Tough loss, senior leader, great young man. They've been in this position before where they've had a big name go down, thinking DE Greg Menard off the top of my head. Next man up is probably a cliche thing to say but these guys really embrace it and buy into it. I've heard from several people that they really try to get every player on the team to prepare as if they will be starting in the game that coming Saturday. Making the jump from backup to starter in a flash and how smooth that transition seems to go (minus this last spring maybe which was a bit of a cluster), it seems this mindset works well for NDSU.
  6. Regarding crowd noise. The home atmosphere and crowd noise Bison fans have become accustomed to in Fargo certainly hasn’t always been there. It took a rival coming in (UNI) and some huge plays and a big win to really bring that kind of crowd to life that day. It really took off from there. Some would say it peaked and is now coming back down, can’t argue it really. Saturday could be a similar kind of day for UND. I expect an atmosphere unlike any other in the Alerus (granted I’ve only been to a few games there), but maybe some of you would agree it has that potential. The crowd needs to be loud on all NDSU offensive downs if possible, easier said than done I’m sure. The team always needs to do their part, but so do the fans. Enjoy the game!
  7. Looking forward to watching the Bison play in the Alerus again. I watched the ‘03 game on TV, but was there for the first loss (‘01?). My only real memory from that game was a double move from a WR for a TD that gave you guys the lead right away. Lamar Gordon played as well and didn’t do squat either. As far as how I think this one will go is not a unique take and everyone probably feels the same. These games are won/lost in the trenches. Who controls the line of scrimmage? NDSU is going to try and run the ball, no hiding that. Play action passing will open up if we’re successful running. Defensively we might be short a senior DE in Waege due to injury, but you know NDSU and their depth there and hopefully there’s not a noticeable drop off. Like I said, looking forward to being up there in a hostile road environment…I’m not like another “Bison fan” we all seem to know around here. I still don’t like your football team and always want to see the Bison crush them. I hope you feel the same in return as it just makes things more fun and spirited for us fans. Grew up enjoying Bison vs UND week, awesome to have it back.
  8. Probably pretty random, but something I was thinking about this morning as I read an article discussing future Missouri Valley scheduling. UND and the Bison will be playing every year and tickets are probably going to be difficult to come by. I usually have an extra pair at the Fargo Dome for Bison football games and would be willing to strike a deal with someone that is in a similar situation with UND football season tickets at the Alerus. Probably a bit early to start the discussion, but if anyone was wanting to trade straight up pair for pair for the following season, shoot me a PM and we can figure something out.
  9. Thanks for the responses on viewing options!
  10. My apologies if this has already been mentioned, but are there online viewing options for this game?
  11. In regards to NDSU scheduling Delaware and the apparent hypocrisy pointed out by some on this board, has anyone brought up the fact that 2019 is a year in which 12 games can be scheduled? So in spite of the fact that NDSU has a road game at an FCS school, they still have UND and Butler coming in, and therefore are getting their 6th home game. They can also try and schedule an FBS game as well that year if they want a 12th game.
  12. I don't think all of us Bison-bo-bos should be lumped into the same group that believes we are non-rivals, I've never felt that way. I know I've made comments on this very board before that let you know how I feel about your football program and it doesn't need repeating for the sake of keeping my presence here from distracting from Will and his big day. However, I'm a fan of FCS football overall and I'm pulling for Will, not sure what I'd be worried about for a former Fighting Hawk. And it's draft day, a big day for football fans every where and I'm excited, and I just wanted to get away from Bisonville where we've been talking about our guy(s) for a while.
  13. I'd suggest you incorporate something to distinguish the difference between sarcasm, trolling, and legitimate football discussion then. Most comments from a Moo U fan often get treated the same.
  14. Ha, come on bigund, you forgot the purple font.
  15. Which is it Darell? I'm hoping for the best for Will. His success only helps the visibility of FCS football. Sure is fun following a draft and waiting for the names to be called of former players from our respective schools.
  16. I think you could also say that the odds of what has happened based upon the amount of times UND has made the playoffs, advanced to the Frozen Four, and actually played in several title games is outrageous as well. It's not easy winning a national championship, so just getting as far as they do every year is nothing short of remarkable.
  17. First time participant as well. Took SCSU over BC in the final, but cheering for the Hawks to win it all.
  18. Checked the ticket forum already and didn't see much for Saturday's game, but if anyone has a pair for sale at reasonable price shoot me a message. Thanks!
  19. I really don't like engaging in this discussion, UND hockey versus NDSU football, but since you quoted me I'll respond. I think you've misunderstood my post a bit. I simply brought up hockey because both of our fan bases have similarities in regards to confidence in the programs we support, and how sometimes that can be misconstrued as arrogance or cockiness. I was in no way implying that UND hockey and their championships are more of an achievement than any of the championships NDSU has won. We can agree to disagree on that subject and I won't continue to discuss it, because frankly it's a waste of time and energy, and the rest of the people reading this forum grow weary of it including me.
  20. Hey UND fans, hope those of you that made the game had an enjoyable experience in Fargo. I mentioned that I would return and congratulate you if you were able to get a victory in the game yesterday, but we all know how things turned out. On that note, I will say that your run defense played pretty well yesterday, and I was really impressed with your linebackers Rich and Ratelle. I couldn't get over the physique of Ratelle, kid is built like a D tackle but runs like a safety...very good player. As far as things I'd discuss about the game have probably already been talked about a plenty so I won't add anything of my own. I feel pretty badly for the young man that got hurt, and as a Bison fan I really hope it wasn't an intention of the player to hurt him. I never played football but I've watched a lot of it and sometimes in the process of making a play things just don't go as planned and maybe you hit a guy where you weren't trying to. Not sure why 2011Bison feels the need to come over here and pile on. He really makes it tough for any Bison fan to come here and have genuine conversation and not be labeled as a troll. I had a UND fan and good friend of mine make a comment to me on Facebook this last week about sounding over confident in regards to the game, and I said it comes with the territory. I know that sounds cocky and arrogant, but how can you guys not relate at all to that, or understand that sort of attitude? I've said before that I pull for UND in hockey and have been to multiple Final 5's, road series in Duluth, and a lot of games at the Ralph. I understand the swagger you guys have with your hockey program, 7 time national champions, and that feeling that you'll be the best or at least a top 5 hockey team every year and that you're going to win every game you lace up the skates for. I'm not trying to argue or "spend to much time spouting off on a rival board on a Sunday", but I really wish sometimes that UND fans would quit confusing that confidence we have for our football team for anything other than just that. Anyway, I don't want to overstay my welcome and have said everything I wanted to.
  21. I've still got two reserved tickets in the north end zone for sale. Shoot me a private message with serious inquiries only.
  22. Can't say I'm happy at all that you guys got your first FBS win today. No trolling. Just here to offer my sincere congratulations on your teams win today. Really looking forward to the game in 2 weeks.
  23. Fair enough, but did you catch that second post on page 15 at all, and the many references to UND and it's recruiting?
  24. Rivalry aside, any football player with a pulse is going to get jacked up walking out of that tunnel to play the 4 time national champs on their home field.
