fightingsioux4life Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 IMO, that point does not exist. I'd rather the program be cut than continue to have him get paid to drive it and UND into the ground. THIS!
zonadub Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 when do we reach the point where we would have just been better off keeping mussman? Agree that point does not exist. Players, no matter how good they are, are on the team for a maximum of 5 years. Coaches can be in place for more than a decade.
fightingsioux4life Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 It's just another embarrassing page in an embarrassing chapter of the program. How long is this chapter? We still don't know. Once we get a new coaching staff in place and they can weed out any bad apples on the roster and start rebuilding the team in their image, then I think we'll be able to put this difficult time behind us. But it will take a couple of years to see progress; I hope people are patient with the new staff.
UNDBIZ Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Daryl Brown transferring to Duluth. Need to stop the bleeding soon.......
UNDBIZ Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 New blood is good I'm hoping we don't bleed out before Faison hooks us up for the transfusion.
ericpnelson Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Dustin Iverson favorite the hashtag #takeyourtime and also tweeted "I just want a coach. Is that too much to ask for..." I would bet a shiny penny that Brian knows this second who he's going to hire. Let's just get it done with, so he can get to work and save what's left.
UNDvince97-01 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Once again, not surprising when you consider that the players were told at the team meeting by the AD and the SWA that anyone wishing to transfer would be granted their release. This happened shortly after the firing when morale was probably pretty low all-around. They did that rather than tell the players they really want them to stay and that they need to wait until the new coach is hired before they would sign their transfer papers. No wonder players are dropping like flies. How would all of us take that as 18-21 year old kids, especially if we were from Chicago and had doubts in our mind about the whole situation? Would we think they cared if we stayed or left? Certain kids would have left regardless, but the leadership attitude no doubt had to make a difference in at least a few others.
Hambone Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 I had heard about D Brown a couple days ago, as well as another DB. Wasn't sure on source so didn't say anything.
homer Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 I had heard about D Brown a couple days ago, as well as another DB. Wasn't sure on source so didn't say anything. Who is the other one? Cain?
sioux24/7 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 The DBs were terrible. They can all leave for all I care.
gfhockey Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Bubba would have all fat trimmed out anyways by fall camp.
Let'sGoHawks! Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 I'm fine with these guys leaving, UND had a pretty awful team, and if guys aren't all in to UND, time to go.
forksandspoons Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Whoever the new coach is needs to recruit more guys like Iverson. Probably wont have much to choose from this year but in the coming years
geaux_sioux Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out. bull$%!# walks. If only 5 players are 100% committed then that's all I want to stay. 3
Popular Post Matt Posted December 18, 2013 Popular Post Posted December 18, 2013 This good riddance attitude is absurd. This isn't basketball. You need too much depth to be successful and quite frankly this team was short on that as it was. These player defections will prove disastrous when, not if, when injuries occur. 6
Matt Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 We saw what happens this year when you simply shove players in there that aren't ready.
gfhockey Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 If they are even thinking about leaving...just leave...
Sioux95 Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 I do t get it. These guys think they aren't good enough to play D1 football? Or are they leaving because the team won't be any good with players like them on it?
gfhockey Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 if they don't want to be on the ride then get off the train! bubbas coming to town
Cratter Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 When they get to Mankato or Duluth and see 2,000 fans vs 10,000 in the Alerus while UND is kicking ass and taking names theyll wonder why they ever left. You can't run from your problems. You build relationships with other players and sticking it out through the tough times will only make those stronger.
