scpa0305 Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Umm Ohio State is currently a spot ahead of Mankato in the PWR but you claim they're not close to Mankato as a program? Nice logic. This is a perfect example of UND fans underrating the Big Ten. OSU is actually very solid this year. The Gophers, UW, and Michigan are elite. Michigan State has multiple national titles themselves and Penn State has everything in place to be a good program. The Big Ten is not and will never be the disaster that UND fans so badly want it to be. Yes. They shouldn't be, the big ten conference (as a whole) is ranked way too high due to MN being so good this year. OSU has beat UMD and Wisconsin...that's it. Their schedule is a joke. They have no decent players. Quote

Multiple national titles? Yea, Michigan Tech and Lake Superior State have a bundle of them themselves...how are their programs doing lately? Quote

OSU has beat UMD and Wisconsin...that's it. Their schedule is a joke. They have no decent players. Ryan Dzingle is elite and will be a top ten Hobey finalist and deserves to be. And you say Ohio State's schedule is a joke? The Big Ten schedule is a LOT harder than the current WCHA pal. Unbelievably bad post. Quote
MafiaMan Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 This is a perfect example of UND fans underrating the Big Ten. OSU is actually very solid this year. You're kidding me, right? Ohio State's 14 wins this year include: 2 against Robert Morris 2 against Niagara 2 against Canisius College 2 against Mercyhurst Seriously, Ohio State should consider raising an Atlantic Hockey Conference Champions banner next fall inside Value City Arena! Their other 6 wins are against Bowling Green, UMD, Michigan State, Wisconsin, and Penn State (2). Please tell me you don't think that THAT résumé makes Ohio State NCAA tournament-selection material. I never said they would make the tourney. But they were being compared to Mankato by Scpa as if Mankato plays a tough schedule. He argued that OSU wasn't near the level of Mankato. And OSU played the Gophers very tough a few weeks ago, two close games. If you think OSU is bad or is an easy win you're nuts. Quote
NorthDakotaHockey Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 The Big Ten is not and will never be the disaster that UND fans so badly want it to be. Perhaps not. Perhaps. Pig Ten hockey is, however, painful to watch, especially on television. Dolts for color. Dolts for play-by-play. Dolts in the studio. Besides, who in the hell is arrogant enough to think that college hockey games oughta be played on a Thursday night? And sappy enough to make their players shake hands after every game? Cripes. Quote
UND1983 Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 To be fair...How is ours? Couldn't be better! We are staring down the barrel of another Top 16 finish this year, maybe Top 8 if the opening round team is bad enough. Aces baby! Quote

Any team playing 8 games non-conference games against Atlantic Hockey teams doesn't have much of a defense to the 'strength of schedule' argument. OK, so OSU did play Minnesota tough two weeks ago, what does that prove? Ferris State was tough in the CCHA the last couple of seasons. Because they have a different conference logo on their jerseys now means they suck? Quote

MafiaMan Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 And sappy enough to make their players shake hands after every game? Cripes. It's not as bad as it sounds, NDH. Originally, Jim Delany wanted the team captains to hug and exchange flower bouquets after every game but the athletic directors voted down that idea. Quote

cberkas Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Well that escalated quickly in Miami 2-0 Western Michigan 17:53 in the first. Quote
cberkas Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Miami doesn't look good, goalie pulled after the third goal with about 8:00 left in the first. Miami should have pulled the goalie after the first 2 goals. Quote

Ferris State had a heckofa team that gave BC all it could handle in the title game just a couple of years ago...and Miami would be the home of a national champion if it wasn't for that epic collapse against BU a few years prior to that.
