so byu, houston, cincy, and ucf to the big 12....where does aac backfill from here?

That will be a good question as the AAC will take a significant hit with these 3 school leaving in all sports.  BYU brings a following and does take some sting out of TX/OK leaving.

What's left of the AAC right now would be: Tulsa, Memphis, Navy, SMU, Temple, Tulane, ECU, USF, and Tulsa.

I wonder if they offer army and uconn as football associates similar to Navy.  Then they only need to add 1 all sports school to get to 12. Or they add just 1 associate football school and stick with 10 teams.  Not sure any Sun Belt team really moves the needle finance wise. Wichita State restarting football is also an option.

Does Boise still want to be in the AAC after the best schools leave for the big 12?

No.  It lost a lot of star power and isn't worth Boise's time.

Hope for the next expansion of the Big 12.

AAC is now on the clock.  BYU, Cincy, Houston, and UCF are officially off to the Big 12

Sounds like the AAC is looking to poach some MWC teams but do those MWC teams really want to leave? The AAC is pretty lame without the teams that have left. The MWC teams being considered are Colorado St, Boise, Air Force, San Diego St. if those teams left it would open the door to Big Sky and MVFC teams to backfill. I just don’t see that many teams wanting to leave from the MWC……

And if you are Boise, why rush it?  Perhaps the Big 12 wants to add more?

Would Big 12 add Gonzaga for BB.  They just pick up BYU.  Add Boise mainly for Football.  Why wouldn't Gonzaga go Big 12

Why would any of the MWC schools leave for what constitutes the AAC now?  The MWC is the better conference now and it is geographically tighter which saves a lot of travel costs and is much easier on the student-athletes in the non-football sports.  The AAC TV contract is going to get renegotiated and cut so the money would not be worth it.

The AAC should be looking at Sun Belt schools like Louisiana (ULL) and Coastal Carolina or CUSA schools like LaTech, Marshall, or UAB.  Keep it on the eastern side of the US.

agreed....but. those  above schools are way way east.  the eastern most team left is new mexico.  i don't think uab would go so sub in new mexcico....

mwc could add cal-davis and seattle (bball only) so East would be....Hawaii, Cal Davis, fresno, sjsu, nevada, unlv and seattle for hawaii (oly sports)

west would be idaho, usu, wyoming, montana, und, usd and maybe denver (oly sports)

matt brown says that CSU and AF are more "poised" to jump from the mwc than sdsu and boise state...interesting....

I assume that you are saying jumping from MWC to Big 12 versus AAC.  Does SDSU and BSU view themselves as options for Pac12 if they loose schools?
