They took Cholowski who is in the AHL.

Take a 1st rounder stuck in the AHL or a undrafted player that plays in the NHL.

He had been a healthy scratch for a while in Detroit and lost his spot when they picked up Olli Juolevi, so there is no need to take him. Also, Seattle is playing the short game with low cost contracts. They are building up a minor league team with a TON of draft picks and they have close to $50 million in cap space for next year.

Christian, Ludwig, Parise, Patrick, Zajac, ... not bad company to keep ...

Those are some incredible players.  I recall watching the 81-82 Sioux and being impressed with Patrick, Ludwig, and about 10 other guys (Troy Murray, Rick Zombo, Gord Sherven, Dave Tippett, Jon Casey, Darren Jensen etc etc).

Next up?  Knock on wood for all the former UND players:

TJ Oshie at 886 games, which would make three guys from that 2005-2006 team.   And Brock Nelson, already at 660 games.

After that, it may be a while.

Even then, everyone in hockey recognized UND as a place where Everyone Plays Defense.   That cultivation of two-way players helped immensely in getting guys to the NHL back in the days when US college hockey was just starting to earn respect.   Several forwards off that team have made their reputation in the pros as defensive specialists, and as coaches of teams that play great two-way hockey.   Fabulous legacy for Gino.  Thanks bro.

UND had a couple former players in the Kelly Cup Playoffs(ECHL) but their teams were eliminated in the first round.

Andrew Peski-Maine Mariners

Hayden Shaw-Trois-Rivieres Lions

Missed one. Didn't catch that Cam Johnson is back with the Everblades and led his team to a round 1 victory.

We have several players getting ready to kick off the Calder Cup Playoffs(AHL)

Collin Adams and Paul Ladue with the Binghamton islanders

Matt Kierstad with the Charlotte Checkers

Shane Gersich with the Hershey Bears

Chris Wilkie and JBD with the Belleville Senators

Aaron Dell with the Rochester Americans

Rhett Gardner and Jordan Kawaguchi with the Texas Stars....depending on how the Dallas Stars do, Adam Scheel could end up joining them as he is with Dallas as the 3rd goalie currently.

Connor Ford with the Henderson Silver Knights

Nick Jones, Austin Poganski, and Luke Johnson with the Manitoba Moose

Grant Mishmash, Cole Smith, and Rocco Grimaldi with the Milwaukee Admirals

Brad Malone with the Bakersfield Condors

Colton Poolman with the Stockton Heat.

Zane McIntyre could also end up joining the Iowa Wild if his 3rd goalie role with  Minnesota comes to an end.
