Siouxperfan7
Looking closer at the Powerpoint plans, you can see soccer lines on the outdoor turf. the plan was to replace the track and the turf there. Might as well put soccer lines on there and make it a multi use facility.

Yes maybe 3 or 4 years ago they played at EGF turf while their field was being leveled and reseeded.

FSSD
I thought that UND/Midco spent some change last year to move fiber out to the soccer field to broadcast games.

Pretty sure it’s now a FIFA level playing surface.

Get Denks, or whoever owns that farmstead and land south of the Alerus, to finally see and build a baseball stadium there and bring back baseball!!
nodak651
Really hoping that if gambling is going to occur at any of the bars/restaurants that may be located in these P3 projects that the UND Alumni Association finally gets involved.

I believe the city owns all the land around that farmstead now (and maybe the farmstead itself, too). Danks had the land a bit farther south, but I think he passed, so I'm not sure who currently owns it.
The Sicatoka
https://news.yahoo.com/sen-john-hoeven-calls-grand-003600964.html Skyrange. Hypersonic missiles. Makes you wonder if having General Armacost (USAF, Ret) at the helm of UND didn't aid the Senators and UND and Grand Forks. And the "National Security Corridor" update to Harrington Hall makes way more sense now. https://blogs.und.edu/campus-renewal/2023/07/harrington-hall/
The Sicatoka
Look at the front and back of the latest UND Engineering magazine. https://indd.adobe.com/view/76c02eaa-b509-4221-99d0-3714d438f7ef Based on the back cover and recognizable landmarks, that's the Hyslop site with a new College of Engineering and Mines and STEM building.

The Sicatoka
What I find interesting is a revamp/remod of Harr/Upson would be $95M (p107) ... but a new (just COE) building is $85M (p108). https://campus.und.edu/facilities-management/_files/docs/2022-master-plan-supplemental-planning/college-of-engineering-mp-2-9-22.pdf

FSSD
Quick question, so what has already been approved and what still needs approval/funding?

State approved $82 million for upgrading the science and engineering buildings (basically whatever UND chooses) and has indicated they'll approve around $80 million in 2025 for a new STEM building, assuming the economy doesn't tank. For both those numbers, 70% is state funds and 30% local.
