Mama Sue Posted September 20 Posted September 20 A win is a win. They say you play to the competition. Quote
forksandspoons Posted September 20 Posted September 20 Well, not much to learn from that one. Glad they got a bunch of guys into the game to get a taste of college football! Gotta be smart and use this next week to heal up and clean up mental errors. The true tests start in MVFC play 1 Quote
SiouxFan100 Posted September 20 Posted September 20 I think Simon should be number two qb from what I’ve seen so far 2 1 Quote

Wilbur Posted September 20 Posted September 20 Gotta see a better team from the start next week. They are where I thought they'd be record wise. Quote

I like that we spread the ball around. Keeps guys fresh and healthy. Quote
wheelsup Posted September 20 Posted September 20 It was nice to see two big differences from last year - nearly a shutout.. 1 bad defensive play away from it. Last year we would have given up 20 to these guys - lots of backups played.. last year romfo would have played until the two minute warning. Great to see some of the backups get significant time. 1 Quote

siouxweet Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Don't ever schedule this glorified D2 JV team ever again. Nothing was gained out of this other than stat padding. A bye week would have been more beneficial. Nothing was learned about this squad today. 2 Quote
Esoteric Posted September 21 Posted September 21 I was disappointed to have missed the game. Could you tell me if many of the backup players got a chance to play? I'm also curious about how the field goal and extra-point kicking went. Quote

Lots of playing time for the twos and threes in the second half. Aside from one god awful play early in the third quarter, the defense was good. 1 Quote

UND Football Fan Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Observation: offense was meh at the beginning. Jerry is improving. Hopefully TE’s get healthy soon. My take on Z is he seems not as much of a bruising back as last few years (maybe lack of reps can do that), last two years he’s been injured down the stretch. I would rather see him play the whole season and have his biggest games during the playoff stretch of the season. Specials were solid, hopefully that carries through to Valley play. Defense gave up that big play, still too many. That being said we are takling better and playing fast. That is a huge improvement from last year. Defensively the challenge will be continuing building depth and continue improving in game adjustments, because with Valley play, once your exposed you need to fix or a season can become a slow death. This has happened a plethora of times over the years. 1 Quote
Siouxperfan7 Posted September 21 Posted September 21 10 for 10 in kicks! 2 blocked punts! 1 kickoff return for a TD. Special Teams were on fire!! 4 Quote

One of the local high school teams would have looked like world beaters as well. 1 Quote

Again what can you take away from playing a talentless team? It's like playing against pylons and tackling dummies. It would have been more beneficial to have an intra squad scrimmage. Whoever scheduled this should be fired if they haven't been already. 1 Quote
