...or maybe they are looking to have a few more guys that could be around more than one or two years.

Have some chips; have some grinder; have some chips; have some grinder.

Is that eating at Red Pepper or recruiting? :D

Just looking through USHL stats page, and I noticed one of the top defensemen in terms of +/- is Brasen Boser from Minot, currently playing for the Fargo Force. His low point total suggests stay-at-home defenseman. Currently uncommitted, according to his USHL page. Anyone seen him skate? Thoughts on his ceiling?

Nick Pierre switched from WI to Merrimack after a slow start this year. If they weren't on fire this year he likely wouldn't have considered them.

Do you think Pierre had all that many options? He’s struggled mightily in juniors.

He’s on a really good team that plays solid D. Tough to tell by looking at numbers alone.

The “French Connection”: Martin St Louis and Eric Perrin made ‘96 Vermont’s team one of the forgotten best.

Born in Burlington to boot, Ryan St Louis must really have wanted to forge his own path. But yes, I too wonder if he doesn’t end up back home.

Interesting how there are no UND recruits on Canada West or Canada East at the World Jr A Challange.

Aren't a lot of UND recruits from Canada (e.g. McInnis, Boisvert) playing in the USHL right now?

I just looked up the Canada West roster, because I was shocked Wiebe wouldn't be on it. It's almost all AJHL players with a few SJHL sprinkled in. There are 0 BCHL players. Based on that information, you shouldn't be surprised about no UND recruits since they only have 1 non-BCHL recruit (Singleton).

From HockeyCanada:

Quote

Created in 2006 to showcase the talent in the Canadian Junior Hockey League, the World Junior A Challenge includes two Canadian teams – Canada East (NOJHL, OJHL, CCHL, LJHAAAQ, MHL) and Canada West (AJHL, SJHL, MJHL, SIJHL) – and three international entries. In all, nine countries have participated – Belarus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland and the United States.
