Something that I have been thinking about and I don’t know what the right answer is. When do you release a college hockey coach and have the time to make the best hire? It’s not right that the portal opens before the tournament is over. You don’t have the time unless you already made your decision before the end of the season who is going to be the replacement. It sucks. Speaking of KEM... Wasn't there a rumor about her making some NIL donations? Quote

Popular Post UNDhoops Posted Sunday at 04:21 AM Popular Post Posted Sunday at 04:21 AM Pretty sure we just let a middle of the pack team hold a coaching hiring decision hostage. Or we cheaped out and took the easy route. Not sure which is worse. 6 Quote

SiouxFanatic Posted Sunday at 04:26 AM Posted Sunday at 04:26 AM Well can't say I'm shocked since there was plenty of forewarning that it was going to be DJ. My pick would've been Herter based on the finalist list. However, what's done is done. #At the end of the day, I support this team. Let's see what DJ can do. I'll put my pitchfork in the shed. Quote

Maybe they were an upper tier team held back by an outdated coaching system? 2 Quote

How they were all set to leave unless Dane got it. This roster is average at best but in true UND hockey fashion they think they’re better than they are. 1 Quote
cowboys5xsbs Posted Sunday at 04:29 AM Author Posted Sunday at 04:29 AM I am guessing the player support was a big reason they picked Jackson 1 Quote

Hiring some fresh assistants will be a big first step. Getting Bryn on board as a GM would be another to help navigate roster management and NIL. Popular Post crb1 Posted Sunday at 04:34 AM Popular Post Posted Sunday at 04:34 AM I think a lot of people are worried that it is just going to be more of the same with Jax. I am a bit surprised how many people are less than pleased with the hire. Jax has to change things up otherwise it’s going to be a short tenure. 8 Quote

So in the same sense, Berry was under Hak, so things should have continued? I hope Jackson uses all the tools and knowledge from Hak and other people he knows in the hockey world and takes the best of each. New assistants could help bring new ideas, fresh perspective, and a closer relational tie to the players. 4 Quote
