He has no pedigree to be an assistant or “GM” at this level…other than he’s a UND guy what in his resume shines over other viable candidates for such a position?

We get it bud, you don’t think Chyzk is qualified enough for the job.  Doesn’t mean other people can’t voice their opinion for him.  Good lord

I’m fine with Fighing Sioux hockey on the ice, but can we leave it at that finally?  The hockey players parading around social media in their top-secret Sioux hats and jackets isn’t a good look for a university with a new team name and logo that’s almost 10 years old now.

I’ve thought that it might be time for a new iteration of the logo. Maybe if you get the input of the players they will feel more ownership behind the logo and wear it more often?

Don't necessarily disagree - I used "Fighting Sioux Hockey" more as a descriptor of the style that we used to play when we were tough to play against and winning big games - not a reference to the logo (although I despise our current one.

If you read even one of the 50+ pages of the “Fire Berry” thread; it should be crystal clear that players not developing to their full potential is one of the biggest concerns with the program currently. Bringing in someone that has excelled with that exact thing at the next level down should be a no-brainer. Then you add that he is a UND guy.

Maybe his UND bachelor of business admin degree? 

In a NIL/Portal world there's need for someone to be constantly watching roster management and for talent that may come available, kinda like a GM.

Sorry, I am just trying to figure out what the hoopla is all about. Maybe he is the next rising star…I just don’t think he has earned that label yet. Yes, he is a GM in the USHL (as are 15 other guys, and hundreds more at all levels of junior hockey). The fact that he is and at such a young age is awesome but his tenure is short and he probably needs some seasoning before he is ready for this level.  
 

I am not sure the next coach of UND would want a “GM” type guy making all the personnel decisions for him. I would assume whoever gets the head coaching job will have a lot more experience and contacts at all levels to do that. The kids in the USHL are can’t miss kids…they all go to NCAA; wouldn’t you want someone a bit older that has been through it all and seen it all? Furthermore, if you want a GM type of guy as an assistant, who’s to say a guy from the CHL wouldn’t be a better fit going forward.

Lastly, there is such a UND bias by many on this forum…I get it, we all bleed green but you really narrow cast your net when it is UND guys or bust.
