Probably fair to say the new HC has a good idea on whether he would be a good fit or not. Happily wrong on this one if it is accurate and he's the guy. Heard a few other names floated, but like I said, new HC has a good idea on how he would be for a fit. 1 2 Quote

The other SDSU kid however... 1 1 Quote

This kid can be a legitimate game changer for UND. He looks nothing like our QBs past and present. I hope the flow and reports are true in that he will soon be a F'n Hawk. 7 Quote

The Sicatoka Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago SDSUred QB1 (O'Neil) is going to Wisconsin. Why is this JT'-J fellow in the portal when QB1 is open? Quote
SiouxFan100 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago How do I say this? I find no need to rub it into players who might be replaced by better transfers in. Something like that. Not saying anyone has. 1 Quote

These things can snowball in a good way. Land the QB, WR target sees that and joins the party. Then hopefully some DT's with nicknames like Tank and Big Snacks hop on board. 7 Quote

Possible fallout from Jayden Denegal from UMichigan transferring in with 2 years of eligibility left? Not sure what their depth chart looks like with all the movement going on. Like seeing upgrades in competition at key spots! One more WR and a few on the D-side to keep it going! 1 Quote

USC doesn’t know how to recruit the QB position I assume you and a couple other experts have far more experience than I with regards to recruiting college players and how evaluations and recruiting have evolved over the years. I responded to a post regarding a qb in the portal from USC that another was very impressed with and wished we could get a guy like that. When I went on the USC site, the guy hadn’t played there. He had been at a couple of schools before USC including a JC. I could not see anything that would warrant USC interest. I checked his record (stats) and it appeared he had been ok at the JC level. I pointed out we had a couple of guys whose HS careers appeared to have been more impressive based on their stats. I didn't, and still don't, see anything that would get us excited about him even though he was on the team at USC. I also admitted that he could be a hidden gem. I didn’t comment on USC’s ability to recruit QB’s but I would bet a lot that he wasn’t put on the team with the idea he would be in the mix for playing time. I wasn’t joking, I made an observation. The USC connection was impressive until I found nothing going back including his HS years that would indicate he would be an impact player for us much less USC. Without film or a conversation with USC staff, that’s kind of an initial evaluation So those who think he could be a difference maker (maybe he could), tell me where I’m wrong. 5 Quote

Who’s better at evaluating QBs: Lincoln Riley or IraMurphy? Some are saying it’s a toss up 1 2 1 Quote

Oxbow6 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago If you as a FCS program get a QB who is interested in dropping down and joining your program from a P5 conference you basically say....when can you get here. Those kids are 100% worth the roster spot to see if they can stick or not. No need to over think this. If he routinely throws a 25 yard out 18 yards you have your answer pretty quick. Quote

iramurphy Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago I never said there isn’t a spot for the guy on the roster. I disagreed that we would be “salivating” over this guy if he would come here. There isn’t anything impressive about his performance so far. Didn’t throw a pass at USC.Its obvious he wasn’t in their plans. He left at BYU without playing, was an ok JC QB and is a couple years older than most juniors. That doesn’t mean he couldn’t be a “hidden gem”. I stated that without reviewing film, there was nothing else to go by and I’m not pretending to evaluate this guy beyond a Quick Look at what’s easily available. Other than the fact that he was on the roster at USC, what would get us excited about him? 1 Quote
