It won't matter who is named the starting QB next year. Fans will be screaming for the backup.

NDSU fans were clamoring for Wentz while Jensen was rewriting the FCS record books for wins. It’s what fans do.

We should be in a good spot if we’re arguing which future nfl qb should start

Correct but the point is no matter the state of the program fans will clamor for the backup any time the starter messes up.

Go on Trey's TwiX and watch his film from 2023 in limited action. There's throws on there that we didn't come close to seeing in 2024....and that's just fact.

did any of them skip or hop halfway to the WR?

Depends on who we have on the roster to compete with him. Depends on who the OC is and what schemes we use.  Lastly, it depends on how much Romfo improves.  Regardless of who the QB is, a lot depends on the oline and the rest of the supporting cast, but I believe we need improvement across the board.

If he can't find a guy to beat what I just watched this year, we in trouble.

Throw in your 2012 Honda Civic with 132000 miles for NIL and get Strand from MSUM to flip

That’s assuming Romfo doesn’t continue to improve or that no one else improves enough to move ahead of him. Either way Oline, and receivers need to be better too. I think whoever is the starter, the QB will look better if new scheme involves our TE’s in the passing game.

That's also assuming that a new guy, who would be at equal footing with Romfo, wouldn't continue to improve also.

The passes Romfo was making even at the end of the season....the best o line in the world wouldn't help.

The QB bar at UND is very low right now. And should be very easy to clear, the pool of candidates is high.

Just went and watched it.  No argument here.  Some very impressive throws.

Best players in Grand Forks?

- backup QB
- backup goalie

Actually in GF it’s third string QB that quits the team.  That’s the guy who would’ve turned it all around!

Agreed there are some very nice balls in there. But I'd be concerned if his highlight film, including some in half pads, was filled with bad throws.
Would also love to see Simon and Jerry's practice film cut-ups for an equal comparison.

Tom Miller was most of the practices and reported on what he saw and ended up not being real surprised by the decision. That's the kind of comparison that actually carries some weight.

Wasn’t Feeney actually #2 on the preseason depth chart?

This is why this conversation gets annoying..  clearly in fall camp the three were very close.. 1 was named starter.. 1 quit.. the other one was buried on the bench regardless of how poorly the starter played or how out of hand the game was.  It was rediculous.
