So UND learned a lesson against Canisius and not play this game on the road and just pay them to come to the REA.

"I don't think they had any left for Saturday." There weren't many needed Saturday. The series finale was scoreless with five minutes to go in the third period, when Frattin curled out of the left circle and sniped one on Robert Morris goalie Eric Levine for an unassisted goal.

So I assume he was saying it was a "buy" series then, because a bye series would suggest he thinks it will be easy, and that doesn't sound like something Schlossman would think, especially since they swept Miami and UND has found ways to lose to them on occasion.

He didn’t mean “bye” series. It’s BUY. Meaning UND isn’t making the return trip to RMU and is paying them $60,000 in travel expenses to come here to play.

I think Schloss often makes good points in response to criticisms of the program, but then on the podcast he said Strinden was "the best player on the ice" on Saturday. Difficult to believe anyone could think that after watching Buium effortlessly cycle the o zone all night.

I heard that and was assuming that they were implying "best UND player on the ice".

I remember that game very well…my youngest son’s first time at the Ralph and he got a puck during warmups.  Oh yeah, and lots of fireworks that night.

I was thinking the same thing. We have been unimpressive defensively lately (obviously injuries are killing us there) so I have a feeling we will see 2 high-scoring games with night one being like 4-3 OT in our favor. Then 5-3 the next night. Take the over. Feeling a sweep but it’s going to be ugly.

Defenseman Tanner Komzak is expected to be available this weekend. Komzak was cleared for practice Thursday last week. He dressed for Saturday's series finale but didn't play any shifts.

Berry said freshman defenseman Andrew Strathmann, who was injured Nov. 1 at Cornell, is "way ahead of expected." Strathmann has returned to practice.
"When he got diagnosed coming out of Cornell, it looked like it was maybe longterm with a surgery included," Berry said. "The surgery didn't take place. He's really responded from therapy. He's in some heavy contact drills, some we're keeping him out of." Strathmann won't play against Robert Morris, but he could play before Christmas break.

Forward Cody Croal practiced for the first time Thursday. He did not take contact.

Defenseman Bennett Zmolek still is not practicing. UND expects to know more on his timeline next week. He's currently listed as "out indefinitely." Goalie Kaleb Johnson also is "out indefinitely."

Center Cameron Berg also will miss this weekend's series. The Fighting Hawks have yet to win this season without Berg in the lineup (5-2 with him, 0-4 without him).

Good news on Strathmann, Komzak, and Croal.
Time to break that stat with Berg out of the lineup.

I would agree with @siouxforce19 it a BYE/BUY series? Schloss would never disrespect one of UND's opponents that way.
