Defense was leaky all game…13 could use a film session. 7 was the bright spot for me. Really noticeable. 13 may need a suit. Hope he just had too many pregame grinders. hockeytherapy13
Even if we play 50% better than we did tonight, we would likely still get beaten by providence. 1

So for those who watched, is it safe to say that the main problem was that the team wasn't that focused & emotionally invested in the game (too many passengers)? Who sits next weekend besides #13? At first I thought maybe the coaches told them beforehand not to go too hard, to avoid any injuries before the season begins. I doubt that would be the case, which leads me to think that maybe the players didn't see much value in an exhibition game where their stats don't count. But even that doesn't make much sense, you'd think the guys would take this game seriously so they can be better prepared for next weekend. I can tolerate a loss, it's the lack of effort that boggles my mind.
Username Taken
I remember when they were a lock for national champions last year after the exhibition game. They’ll figure it out.

farce poobah
Last time we lost the opening exhibition? October 11, 1996. THAT season turned out just fine.
BusinessSoot
If anyone thinks that effort/result was acceptable, then I’m sorry. This effort tonight is 100% on coaching staff/leadership group. A top five team on paper just got embarrassed at home by a second year program. That second year program showed, grit, determination/structure and unselfish play.
dustnyou
Settle down everyone. Sioux were playing an exhibition game. Their opponent was playing one of the biggest games of their life so far. Good for them.
planetearth
Not sure if this was mentioned on the forum or at tonight’s game, but a member of Augustana’s coaching staff, Grafton, ND native Chad Demers, recently passed away. Condolence's to the Demers family. https://goaugie.com/news/2024/10/4/mens-hockey-augustana-mourns-the-loss-of-coach-chad-demers.aspx

SiouxForever
Sloppy play. Lot’s of improvement needed with a tough schedule coming up. Doesn’t matter what the team looks like on a paper, they did not look good and played soft on pucks. Team is really going to miss the play making skill of Blake and the grit and juice from Joahannes. It’s early, starts with leadership. Jammer has some work to do
