Literally. It’s just wasting everyone’s time.

Yah so if what cberkas is saying is true, rather insulting and a waste of Emery’s time bothering to show up.

It wasn't from a member of the coaching staff. I'm looking for where I heard he would be a cut; this was before the St. Cloud series.

Everyone had him in the top 4.

Yeah every list I’ve seen has had Emery as a lock. Hopefully he uses it as motivation and it doesn’t bite Team USA in the butt. ;)

I guess I can see how they could be worried about some stuff regarding his turnovers and processing when the puck is on his stick. Obviously he’s notably better than most freshman defensemen because he kills plays with his long reach like a maniac. But I could see why there may be a gap or 2 they want him to fill (pun intended) before next year. Or maybe he’s dealing with an injury like the rest of our team.

https://www.podbean.com/ew/pb-p4aen-175e2b9 at 59:40 they start talking about Team USA WJC. This was on December 3rd, so before UND played St. Cloud.

Honestly Emery didn't look like he would make the team. I'm surprised Kleber was picked and Fiddler not making the team is surprising for defense.

I’m okay if this bites team USA in the butt. For all I care, if a UND player isn’t involved, I’m not involved. Coaches with biases against UND players shouldn’t succeed. I guess the bright side here is we don’t have to worry about DU stealing Emery from us in exchange of this opportunity.

I feel he’s taken more strides recently in being more offensively minded. More shots on goal from him, and eventually one or more have to end up in the net

Don’t get me wrong…this forum is full of “burn it down” crazies. I am not one of them. My point was fairly simplistic I guess. We had a tough start, mostly due to a tough opening schedule and some key injuries. We circled back and have been on a decent stretch, mostly due to the sub par teams we’ve had the luxury to play. I’m still curious how good this team really is, time will tell I suppose.

As far as the burn it down folks go, I think they need to come to a very realization that the recruiting landscape has been changing for a while now and will continue to change heavily as we move forward. It’s not as easy as it used to be…and I’m saying that right after coming off a great recruiting year (I.e. two first rounders and the ushl player of the year). Recruiting will be key moving forward. The one thing I will say is that we’ll need to favor well against the other teams that aren’t pulling first rounders annually.

They are officially referred to as "ledgies".  Thank you.;)

That’s right…how did I forget that. Carle was the head coach though I don’t believe. Those Denver guys hate Nodak.

Eff DU!

No matter what is happening, rider or no rider, bridle or no bridle, ol' gf clip-clops back to the comfort of the only stall he's ever known.

Yeah, I like the team to do well, but I'll admit that the prospect of a couple of bad losses in round robin play, followed by maybe a 6-3 exit in the quarterfinals has the potential to give me the warm fuzzies.  We'd be done with Carle and Larson on the world stage, at that point. :D

Let's just say that being a top ten NHL Draft pick James Patrick the first half of his freshman season had people wondering about that lofty draft status.  After that, not so much, as he adjusted quite well to the college game after a short learning curve.

Frankly, that is what gives me quite a bit of hope about this team still is that they aren't heavily slanted to veteran portal players.  With Zmolek out of the lineup we don't have one upperclassmen at defense.   If all the young guys take a jump the second half, there may still be some very good things that could happen going forward.  Starting to see a whole lot of confidence in Boisvert and Swanson.  Even guys like Wiebe are still growing into new roles, as I am sure Zmolek would have been the go to guy in many situations.
