nodakgirl93 Posted January 7 Posted January 7 I dont think it was intentional judging by where the player was looking. Quote

I don’t think it was intentional, but he definitely pushed it in. The puck accelerated. It wasn’t just deflecting off his glove. I don’t know how the rule actually reads anymore, though. Quote
Kevin G Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Does the too many men penalty have anything to do with putting the goalie back in? 1 Quote
Wilbur Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Jake.....sigh....Wisconsin beat Ohio State....UND beats Bucky 5-2 in Cincy.... Come on.... 1 Quote
bcblues Posted January 7 Posted January 7 This was a great non-conference series for us. It forced our guys to hustle, since Alaska hustled really well. 2 Quote

But that kind of play will win a lot of games. In looking at Alaska’s schedule they may have a lot of games from teams down on the lower end of providing pairwise points. ASU might be the strongest games. Alaska has a lot on the line to win tonight. Quote
cowboys5xsbs Posted January 7 Posted January 7 I will take the sweep. Much better game from Hobie. Quote
Esoteric Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Congratulations UND team and coaches for the sweep. A much better game tonight. Stick salute is deserved. Quote

Popular Post brianvf Posted January 7 Author Popular Post Posted January 7 The new lines really started to gel there. Good to see. Getting Gaber onto his own line seemed to ignite him a bit. OMac with the best series of his career so far. James was all over the ice both games. He was one of our best forwards this series, IMO. Perron could have scored 3 goals on the same shift of his goal tonight. He's buckling down and he could be a force the rest of the season. Hedquist. Didn't realize he was starting until game day yesterday and he stepped up admirably. He'll only continue to get better, but he showed a great foundation for being a quality goalie for UND in the future. Can't complain with a 12 goal weekend and a sweep in the last OOC series of the season. Keep it rolling next weekend against UNO! I'll be flying in from AZ for the series with my son, so we're pretty excited! 4 2 Quote

Went great because we didn’t lose. Backup goalie played good enough to win and gain confidence if we end up needing him again. still big concerns with our defensive play that will be exploited by better teams down the stretch. Need to get that fixed so hopefully this team gets that figured out by April. 1 Quote
dden3 Posted January 7 Posted January 7 They certainly don’t cover the other team defensively like the Nodak hockey we are used to seeing. But the show lots of evidence that they can be good defensively. They will get there. Quote

Rather than eat the puck and have a 50/50 chance, they blindly throw the puck into dangerous places. UND has always been great at living to play another day, especially when you have the lead. If they don’t get better at puck management, winning four games in a row in tight tournament games could be quite a chore unless your goalie is stealing games, or you are shooting lights out. On the positive side, they are in every game, and 3 on 3 isn’t a thing in the playoffs, unless you have some weird non coincidental penalty situations. Turnovers are going to happen against pressure, but they need to for sure tighten up on unforced turnovers. Quote
