farce poobah Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Augie with a nice effort at Notre D. Credited with an OT loss that was almost a regulation loss. Regulation ends, then ND challenges for a major, which occurred with 17 seconds left. They win the call, and were about to reset the clock back to 17 left in regulation, when someone (who knows the rules) said no you don't. So OT was going to be 4x3 for 5 minutes, when ND scored to win. But Augie skate well, play good positional D, and Garrett Raboin has enough connections to get them off the ground sooner, and maybe ramp faster to competitiveness than St Thomas with Rico (who bombed out of Miami). 1 Quote

ASU challenged for a major after a goal was scored and the goal was waved off because the major happened before the goal (there was no penalty originally called). I was sitting there thinking that not how this works. One of the things with Augustana is they started from scratch without being a club team Lindenwood, Arizona State, etc or NCAA D3 St. Thomas. I think that helped them greatly because they got a bunch of portal guys. Quote

North Dakota is an affordable place for people to play an expensive sport, this would a great opportunity to grow the game across the state. 1 Quote

We have more skill than most of the teams, you would think 3 v 3 would be to our advantage. Hopefully they can clean up play a bit in the second half, probably a little too much "pond hockey" at times. Quote

Skill is pointless if it is used carelessly and results in turnovers that go quickly the other direction. Use the skill to set up grade A chances, not dangle and spin around until one's pocket gets picked. Quote
