MTSioux22
Anyone see or know why 2 students front row in front of penalty box were escorted out last night by security? Happened right after the first "FU Denver" chant.

I just cannot with DU people complaining about officiating considering all the games with massive discrepancies in penalties over the years at Magness.

Goon
Kleven's hit on Guttman was a legal shoulder-to-shoulder hit. It was a thing of beauty. I joked to Scotty Wazz after the hit that now we'll have a five minute review by the officials. Sure enough, we did. We all looked at it numerous times, it was a legal clean, hard hit. Savoie's was a predatory, dirty chicken wing elbow. If the league had any balls he'd be suspended for both games this week.

Part of getting swept is sour grapes....understandable.

Of course when you depend on getting far more power plays than the opposition, you probably have a skewed perspective.
tnt
Saw John Hill at the game on Friday, and was wondering why he would be here. Looks like he is a scout for Edmonton now. Hopefully Dave Tippett has a ton of other scouts He can depend on.

We would’ve had two power plays if we didn’t shoot ourselves in the foot by taking penalties. Schmaltz’s face off violence penalty nullified a power play and then I believe Calder took a penalty when there was a delayed penalty coming up on Denver.

Team has player take cheap flying run at the head of the Captain of other team that isn't initially called by reffs. Team then watches cleaner hit get called a major to negate 5 minute major for other team. Fans complain about bad officiating.....
Goon
Here's the play in question that led to the guy laying on the ice behind the net. He got wrapped up with Ashton Calder.
The Sicatoka
NCAA Ice Hockey Rule Book, Rule 8.1 (paragraphs 4 and 5): Quote When a player is injured and unable to continue play or go to the bench, play shall not be stopped until the injured player’s team has secured possession of the puck. If the player’s team is in possession of the puck at the time of injury, play shall be stopped immediately, unless that team is in a scoring position. When it is obvious that a player has sustained a serious injury, an on-ice official may stop play immediately. First Bolded: Did Denver have possession of the puck when Mayhew was down? Second Bolded: Senden was utterly defenseless on the ice. (Was he conscious when he landed?)

The Sicatoka
What'd I learn Saturday: - DU's top guns get frustrated - We may have another shutdown like (ala the Famous Names and the Heavy Line). - Griffen Ness may come off the side of a milk carton (he might be able to cover a shut-down role if needed in future) - Louis Jamernik self-nominated for future C/A consideration: Play the role (grind). Shutdown some top guns. GWG. Defend your captain.

Shutdown some top guns. GWG. Defend your captain. Totally! And I like how Jamernik simply pushed the puck over to the DU player to touch and then immediately pounced on Savoie rather than picking up the loose puck and trying to gain possession and a potential shot at the empty net. Shows he cares about his fallen teammate. Jake made a comment to that affect.

Wilbur
Grant Mismash got a game for running into Chrona last year with Chrona giving himself a concussion with his reaction to getting run into. Savoie leads with his elbow going full speed into Senden, and we haven't heard about any extra games? The rules are just different for some teams.
