6 for 6 on UND's last TD drive when they needed to pass, and mostly weren't gadgets...

JMU adjusted defense because game was over.

6-6 for 75 yards on last drive.  Pre final drive 10-20 138 yards and 2 ints(only 1 was his fault).

Less than 7 yards per attempt.  And how much of that was on the 2nd qtr drive where Danny emptied the playbook? 2-2 for 48 yards on gadget plays.

8-18 with 1 pick for 90 yards previous to last drive and without gadget plays.

It seems that you are the type that will always think the backup is the answer. Every fan base has them. If we could stop the damn run this game would be entirely different and that is where the focus needs to be if we want to be a championship team.

That’s part of my point.  Our longest drive was 3:28.  Defense was on field for almost 37 minutes.  We stopped the run much better early than late.  Needed a couple 8-10 play drives that take 7-8 minutes.

other than first qtr of MSU it was largely the same story the last 3 games.  I’ll shut  up now.  We are so damn close.

.....and that is without a WR anywhere near the talent of Wells.

who has been recruiting these "type" of WR's these last few years!!!!!!!

get in your car and go get one instead of busing to crookston or st cloud .....

Let's remember that Vaughn would need to actually find those open receivers that Schuster is consistently finding.  Processing a play isn't as simple as it seems.

He fumbled first play, scored second play and quit running third play. If O line doesn’t open holes for running game it won’t matter. Terrible throw by Schuster on int but not time to quit on anyone yet.

referencing midwesternhawks stats...

8-18 with 1 pick for 90 yards previous to last drive and without gadget plays.

Had a sick td pass against South Dakota

Yes he did. It was also one hell of a play call and the receiver was so wide open most of us on this board could have made that throw. I want to see him pass the ball in drop back or roll out because that will let us know how accurate he is or isn't. He hasn't had that chance so we don't really know what we have in him yet.

UND's touchdown drives were 75, 90, and 91 yards.

How many teams had a 90 yard TD drive all season, much less against that defense.

Very pleased we were able to score 3 touchdowns on offense.  Needed something from our defense and/or special teams to really have a chance and we didn't get that, unfortunately.  But I'm still in awe with (pretty much) everything that went down in the 2020-21 spring season.  I think this team is going to be on an outright mission come September.

 6 plays, 75 yards, TOP 2:18
10 plays, 91 yards, TOP 3:28
9 plays, 90 yards, TOP 3:20

The score book doesn't mention trick plays. ;)

As far as garbage time, do you believe JMU wanted to let 34-14 become 34-21? Their defense has pride just like UND's.

JMU was no longer playing dbs as tight.  Give up short stuff and don’t give up any one strike plays.

JMU going for it at the goal line at the end negates any garbage time in this one, to me.

Are we the only fan base that poo poos our highlights (it's not always luck, you know)?  Any other team uses gadget plays on us (and they do all the time) or creeps up on us in garbage time and all of a sudden they're celebrated for their creativity, skill and prowess.  If we do it, according to some in our fan base, we were lucky or any myriad excuses that usually follow. I am not for sugar coating things but damn, sometimes we need some perspective.

trick plays are usually for teams that know they are outmatched.

Tommy finished 6th for the Jerry Rice Award going to the FCS freshman of the year......he received one 1st place vote.

How did those voting not know he isn't even the best QB on the team?

What you didn’t say was that Quincy finished third with 17 first place votes
