Tibesar’s 2024 defense at Akron was even worse than Schmidt’s 2024 defense at San Diego State. Not to mention, for those worried about age on here, Tibesar is older than Schmidt.

I do think his last year he did a decent job with the defense, we burned practally all the quarters Red Shirted D-Line because of all the injuries. One of the negatives I noticed last night.

His bio at SDSU said he would put in a 4-2-5 at there. Watched some of the Air Force game last night. I saw a 3-4 defense get shredded. The only 4-2-5 was like his time at UND. Used in long yardage situations.

Bubba's new position barely puts a dent in UNDs annual budget.

They creating these new jobs left and right lately.

Former UND President Kennedy was paying some lady to live in Texas a $120,000+ a year and be like head of Ethnic Studies for Continental Recruitment or something and work "remotely."

Im sure Schmidt has many connections,  but nobody in their right mind is going to go from Washington or Alabama to UND are they? Even if they were made the OC or DC they would be making way less. Would have to be a pretty low end coach from any of those schools,  to go to UND unless they really felt confident it could somehow be a stepping stone.

I’m not confident we’re going to operate like a 1st class athletic department with this critical hire….

The press release yesterday saying Bubba was going to act as head coach until a hire was made and then now a release saying Fruechte is the interim head coach is already a early red flag…

I hope it is something as simple as the players told Chaves they want Fruechte over Bubba as the interim head guy until the new hire is made.

Fruechte "as interim" can only mean he is the next HC.  Imagine hiring Schmidt/Baldwin/Whomever then saying guess what, "we picked the OC for you".

Yeah, that definitely would be the easy button approach. But, again, why even lie to everyone and say a national search? Because hiring Fruechte and coming to conclusion this soon would not exactly be a national search and hire.
