TBR Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Honestly did not think the hit by #70 on the last play was all that egregious. It was someone else's call to run a play and it looked like he was just playing through the whistle. The chest thump was perhaps a bit over the top. Quote

Should've hung 52 on 'em https://mobile.twitter.com/JTESCHER37/status/787626638519304192 Absolutely bush league out of SUU. Hard to condemn the entire SUU program for that one player's actions, but the way the entire SUU offense was called at the end there makes it easier. SUU's head coach should receive a nice phone call or letter regarding how inappropriate (aka fucking stupid) his team's actions were at the end. I hope the SUU program and fans (all 12 of them) enjoy the loss -- they deserve it. It could've been by more if UND wanted it to be. Although it is tempting to want UND to do more scoring, they need to stay healthy and pull the starters in games that get out of hand. Reyes' injury occured when playing while the Sac St. game was out of hand. 3 Quote

And showed intent to be a jack ass. Gave Bubba an in to stick up for his captain. Quote

Playing thru the whistle is fine, but blindsiding a guy at the whistle at the end of a 45-23 ass whooping is bush. It's hard to believe he didn't have intent to injure especially when it also appears to be a head to head hit. 1 Quote

Yeah, I see it completely differently than you, as does Bubba apparently. If someone like Connor O'Brien gets hurt on that play, which easily could've happened because of a difference in effort, is it worth it? Absolutely not. There's certain unwritten rules of gamesmanship that some dont get -- #70 is one of those clueless ones. 1 Quote

UNDBIZ Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 It was a dirty hit at the conclusion of a play that never should have happened. Whole SUU team bears responsibility. Quote

Westside Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Watching that last play, #70 totally whiffed on his first block attempt on O'Brien... guess he felt he should make contact with someone before the day was over. Quote

Our backups got some minutes as well as experience and we get a W! Great thing is, Cole will be back After SUUs second TD #1 for them came to their sideline and gives he Hulk Hogan palm to ear to the student section and crowd. Next series they run that play again and Flowers light him up and he doesn't step back on the field. 5 Quote

SUU (last years conference champions) is a well coached and run team. This player will be talked to/disciplined. Things happen in football, this is over. Let's look to next week. Quote
Longtime fan Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 #70 is a total douche that should sit a game, but the volkswagon (#51) they had was a respectable guy.....he went over to our students and slapped hands with them after the game. He was the class and 70 was the ass 1 Quote

BarnWinterSportsEngelstad Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 I was in the 8th row in Section 217 above the SUU fans. They had seven rows of fans right below. They had great cheers and were very friendly. Quote
SIOUXFAN97 Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 as good as brady has looked I still think that Santiago is a such a game changer he needs about 80% of the touches and use brady to spell him as needed... 1 Quote

Hell no. We don't have a buy til week 12. Spread the carries as thin as possible. Big picture. Quote

Agreed, we have three running backs that are all dynamic and capable of breaking something. Oliviera is a punisher but has shown improved vision this year. Santiago is one tackle away from breaking a big one seemingly every play. Gordon has shown the ability to pop a long run as well. Give all three of them carries, obviously Oliviera/Santiago more, but the committee is strong. Quote
Sioux>Bison Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 If Santiago is unstoppable then yes run him as much as possible but if can't get it going consistently then we need to rotate the backs and keep them fresh. we have so much talent in the backfield we need to put each of them in position to make defenses pay. also how do we know Conner is ok after that hit to the head? Any confirmation that he is ok? Quote

Big picture. john can take it 80 plus yards on any given run...maybe brady "only" gets 7...that could be difference bt winning the game or losing by 3...plus john is 20 years old...he can handle 20 rushes a game easily! Also part of the big picture, Gordon and olivera have too much talent to only get a few carries per game. Need to get everyone their share of touches if you expect them to stay around. 1 Quote

Find ways to get John the ball in space but you can't argue with Brady getting carries. Dude is a load and a complete change of pace. No dancing, just lower the shoulder. Quote
Feff Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 I like what they've been doing splitting Santiago out as a receiver and putting Oliviera in the backfield on the same play. Teams have to account for both on the same play. 3 1 Quote
