UND-FB-FAN Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Great game. Big-time win for UND. The offense has a lot of work to do in terms of discipline yet, but if they can put together a full 60 minute game, they will do just fine. They could've been up 24-0 if they had just hung on to the ball in the redzone. They are close folks! Not to mention, they did all of this without Santiago; hopefully he can return within a few weeks. I also thought the UND offense showed a lot of character when going down 17 to 14 in the beginning of the third-quarter but then drove right down the field to take the lead back. Defense needs to improve defending the big pass play, but given the pick by Hunt to end the game, I'll give them a break. The UND defense was great against the run - just tremendous. As for the offensive line, they are better off with Coe at RT. Patric Rooney could be the starter at center for the next 3+ seasons; hopefully his injury doesn't sideline him for long. The line has some mojo going now. Quote
UNDfan2013 Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 I thought Aplin played well today at RG and even Center when he filled in there too. Original starting RG had been struggling so hoping Aplin can continue at RG and Rooney is ok. Really an all around good team effort. O and D both had breakdowns at times during the game but the ongoing fight and determination of these players and coaches is great to see! 4 Quote
Longtime fan Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 So now a wet blanket......injuries: 4 lost for the season this week + Clive week 1. Today: Rooney- got off the field on his own santiago- crutches and boot o brien - not sure tank -ankle-but kept playing any others?? With no bye week this year, Unds health is crucial. There is no week to heal up! Great win today!!! Quote
F'n Hawks Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Wasn't in there in time for the intro and the team running out, was it better than it was for the Potato Bowl? Quote

Sioux>Bison Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Great win boys. Keep the improvements coming! It good to see he offense finally clicking against a solid team. Day by day and next man up could not be any more true. bubba Ned's some credit for getting the team back on track. This young team has a good future. Quote
Tangolou Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Was this the best all around game thus far? The offense had their way all game, except for two costly turnovers in the red zone. This really shouldn't have been close. 3 Quote
UNDfan2013 Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Penalties were an issue last game...not this one. Turnovers costly in this game, both in the red zone so eliminated points from the board. Couple defensive breakdowns allowing big plays by CP. I am sure those will both be addressed this week by the coaching staff too. Lets keep this progress rolling! Quote
77iceman Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Secret to scoring on UND....lob a 15 yard pass right down the middle of the field. Nobody ever home. Quote
Longtime fan Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Per tom miller- santiago should be fine .........please be true!!! 1 Quote
darell1976 Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Great win guys!!!! Nice balanced game. Quote
SiouxVolley Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 The OL play was surprising good. Studsrud seems to be in late season form. Kudos to the defense and key interceptions. Wanzek, Toivonen, Gordon, and Hunt really gives one hope that this staff knows how to recruit. 1 Quote
TBR Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Great game by Studsrud, Wonzek, and Brady O, but game ball goes to the OL. Thoroughly enjoyed this game! 1 Quote

Sioux>Bison Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Santiago is a great back don't get me wrong but we have other talented backs that losing him for a few games won't hurt our offense. Hope we get him back soon but until then I won't lose any sleep Quote

Love that he did that, completely took away the predictability of our offense. Man did Rudolph open his book......all the way to page 6-7.....kudos to Rudolph! 12 Quote

Cratter Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 I'm starting to get cocky. These UND teams are starting to feel like the old d2 days at the Alerus when the game were hardly ever in doubt and its like yeah we're better than you. Bubba has been doing a great job and the attendance was great again. 2 Quote
