Its interesting how these things go down... There are a group of people who make the decision.  Once the decision is made, do you schedule a press conference and announce it to everyone at the same time and risk it being leaked by someone involved in the process (whether internally or externally)?  Or do you tell select people ahead of time and not be forthcoming to the rest until the press conference?  In the latter scenario, you can prevent Brad from tweeting that UND has a recruit on a visit right now because the coach wouldn't schedule something like that if he knew the program would be cut.  But all of those signs will just cause the rumor mill to go nuts and there is a way high likelihood of leaks.  If you schedule everything to come out at a press conference and let everyone go about business as usual until that time, people complain about the optics.  Its a lose lose situation.

So Schloss just tweeted that there's a women's hockey recruit on campus for an official visit right now. That's not awkward or anything...

Idalski contract is done this year, why would he be out recruiting if he has no guarantee of a job next season at UND?

Well, considering the news broke way before the meeting was scheduled, I don't blame them for being p!ssed.

But they were told they had a meeting with Faison 45 minutes before he is going to get up and tell everyone what sport(s) would be cut.  What did they think was going to be discussed?!!

Jocelyn shaming UND for not communicating to the team before anyone else that the program was being cut.  Can't blame UND for the story being leaked before they had a chance to meet with them.

You can't? Presumably they were the only ones that knew, hence the leak.

This is a challenge, hard day at the office for many, horrific day for those in the sports cut.
