Why UND over Fargo U? Here's why...

Those numbers might be skewed because they forgot to list Mylo Hatzenbuhler for NDSU.

Nothing to do with the thread topic, but your avatar and user name are awesome!

I think we got y'all beat as far as most awesome alum....

Star football player....fighter pilot....4-star general...

Impressive, ... but generals work for Senators and Congressmen. ;)

Let's see, UND claims a governor (or more), a US cabinet level secretary, and an ambassador.

And then there's the matter of the communications theory that allows for things like cell phones and the internet, developed by Harry Nyquist -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Nyquist

Every EE and communications engineer on earth learns the Nyquist sampling theorem.

Of course, he worked for this guy. UND's Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Don't feel bad. Most folks from Fargo U. end up working for leaders that went to UND.

Accept it. It will make life easier for you.

Kinda like an arrested NDSU football player standing in front of a judge who went to UND.

I just hope that our young fry cook does not accept a life of crime like the football players at the College of Home Economics. That would be sad.

I'm no Poly Sci major by any means...but I believe....generals go up a chain of command that settles on the President....not real sure if Heitkamp, Hoeven, or Cramer are anywhere to be found in that structure.

Haydukes guy on the other hand...would have his name in there.

I have a feeling this thread will escalate quickly. Let the measuring contest begin!

And what was it we are measuring again.....I can't quite remember. :p

Honestly, I take measurements like this with a big block of salt. You cannot quantify something as qualitative as higher education.

Dumb arcticle. Timing of it make the Herald look like they are compensating for NDSU outperforming UND lately. Makes the Herlad look really childish. This thread is a joke, but not suprised it was started based on seeing who started it. Please stop embarassing this city, this University and its sports teams, and it loyal fans and stop making yourself look stupid and stop commenting on this thread.

Meh. Didn't think it was necessary, but the Forum ran an article on it too. More surprised that Time magazine actually published it to begin with.

I would guess the reason the Herald ran it had more to do with Time Magazine running with it than any perceived need to pump up UND. It was timely and had a local focus.

A senator and a general are in a room. Who is sitting at attention? Which is asking questions and which is answering?

There's your answer about rank John.
