LkvlleUNDFan
Coach Kostich posted on Facebook that UND officially added a linebacker from Minnesota yesterday. Does anyone know who that is?

LkvlleUNDFan
Any more and they'll start chanting gopher rejects when we play ndsu I'm not sure if he meant that it was a Gopher or just a guy from MN. But - if they can play and help us, I don't care who rejected them. Let the Bizooons chant whatever they want!
UND-FB-FAN
Any more and they'll start chanting gopher rejects when we play ndsu We have 2 former UM players, not rejects. They are both very capable DI football players that wanted more playing time. To term them as rejects is absolutly asinine.
homer
Any more and they'll start chanting gopher rejects when we play ndsu Not sure who the 2nd is but the first (Hjinosa) brings a ton of energy to the defense and is a welcome addition. jjensen
Jephte Matilu Was the guy touring UND earlier this month so that's who I'm guessing it is.
geaux_sioux
Seems to have a decent 1st step. 2 years remaining according to their roster I think.
Risky
I was under the impression we might be looking for a couple of transfers with our need being DB's, DL's, or maybe receivers. Did that change or just that we never able to find someone in those positions?
UND-FB-FAN
SFI also believes the transfer to be FB/LB Jephete Matilus from the University of Minnesota. Should be able to play either FB or LB for UND, although SFI believes LB. Considering Kostich recruited/aided in his transfer and is familiar with him, I have to believe Matilus will be present on all special teams. http://m.gophersports.com/m/sports/m-footbl/mtt/jephete_matilus_764751.html 3-star player coming out of high school in Floridahttp://sports.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Jephete-Matilus-106908

IrishSiouxFan
Admittedly I haven't been keeping up with UND football as much as I have in the past. How's the team looking? Did we score anymore big recruits other than the two Gopher transfers? How big of a recruitment tool do you think the IPF is for Bubba and his staff? gundy1124
I was under the impression we might be looking for a couple of transfers with our need being DB's, DL's, or maybe receivers. Did that change or just that we never able to find someone in those positions? I have heard the logic a time or two. If we are going to be a good football team we need to be at least 2 deep at each position.(that is the goal at least) That means we need 4 starting caliber outside backers. The coaches must think the new LB from the Gophers will be in the mix for the top 4 this year. We currently have 1 proven top level guy, plus 2 guys that are good with some upside potential to becoming top level guys. So, we have 'some' room at outside backer, but to your point, we are thinner/more unproven at other positions.
UND-1
To add to that, getting transfers along the offensive and defensive lines is much harder than at LB or RB, where players are more plentiful. Every coach in America will take a good OL or DL. Can never have too many. UND needs another DL or possibly a cornerback as an FBS transfer. An effective defensive end would be outstanding. He certainly plays more like a LB than a safety. If he can add the size I think he would be interesting at ILB.

siouxfan512
Wasn't Troy Hansen one of those late commits we got? I want to say he was waiting on a potential FBS offer; or am I thinking of a different guy. Either way, thats a shame. Pretty tacky to back out on a commitment like that. Hawkster
Better now than in a year from now when we've wasted a redshirt scholly on him. If they don't want to play, we don't want them.
