rooftop dining right there would be nice.

A good rooftop patio for a legit restaurant would kill in that location

you wonder how much longer that forx realty? (building south of gate city bank) on demers can hold on til...it's really run down and with all the building going on around it  it has a nice location....you would think a skinny and tall (tall for grand forks) almost flatiron looking building right there would look nice.

Grand Forks based Alerus Financial plans to go public with an IPO target of $75 Million.

Not sure why it’s an IPO, as they have already traded on the OTC market for nearly two decades.  It will be listed on the NASDAQ now, but that’s not an IPO but a change in listing. Perhaps missing something.

https://www.thestreet.com/quote/ALRS.html

The Twin Cities Business Journal say Alerus is a now a Minneapolis based company based on where revenue  sources and that paper confirms that Alerus is already listed.

Alerus probably had old stockholders that wanted to sell, and they made a market for it on the OTC.  This gave them a way to sell their shares, even though it hadn’t IPOed yet.

Sinplot freeZer is very cool. Yes eye sore but lots of money.

You've got Weekley's boneyard a stone's throw away from the airport.  Eyesores seem to be the least of anyone's worry.

INewz story that Bed, Bath, and Beyond is closing. It's going to be hard to fill these large retail stores. Hornbachers, Pier One, Macys, Sears, and now this one.

It would be interesting to see how far apart they were on the lease negotiation.

Where is our chamber of commerce or the edc guys?

They should be trying to get more retail in town in town instead of apartments. People aren’t goinf to move here without places to work

Haga makes upward of 100k, which I still cant comprehend. GF has a city administrator and mayor, still not sure why Pete makes over 100k as a "chief of staff"

Dakota Commercial has more vacant commercial properties in this town than I've ever seen!   Sure they OWN all the commercial property...they just don't want to RENT the commercial property unless it's at "their" rate.   Look around - for example.  Golden Corral closed down 6 years ago.  DC converted that space into a strip mall that has never been occupied by more than a car dealership for a couple months as their location underwent street construction.  They have "space available" signs everywhere else in this town.  Maybe they could have cut Bed Bath and Beyond a break....considering the current retail situation in GF....guess not:-)
