Many of the Manitoban Dub players played in the MJ before major juniors. No, my point is it doesn't matter where you play, scouts will find you. 1 Quote
petey23 Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 Fact of Life--Kids develop and reach their potential at different rates. I know of many players who while their game wasn't mature yet, they made mature decisions and did not let ego get in the way of the big picture. for example sometimes it means choosing a team in the NAHL even though you had earned a spot in the USHL...spot as 6 or 7th d-man vs. top pair defenseman on #1 penalty kill and power play unit....which is better for your development? Those three could lead this team offensively. 2 Quote
burd Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 Dustin Penner was a success story at Bottineau and beyond, but didn’t he fail several times to get on the roster of Manitoba junior teams? I understand his late physical maturation partially explained his out-of-nowhere progress. Quote

Perron will make a huge jump next year. 1 Quote

UND85 Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 Dalton Andrew got 4 goals in game 1 at the Centennial Cup in Oakville Ontario playing for the Canadian championship. Score was 4-2. 2 Quote

Get him into the top 6 with some high end talent and he’ll shine. 1 Quote
AlphaMikeFoxtrot Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 Coltyn Sanderson came from a similar league, earned a consistent role as a senior and scored one of my all time favorite goals against Michigan with the drop-tip. I hope to look back at this guy with a fond memory too. 2 Quote

Popular Post brianvf Posted May 15, 2024 Popular Post Posted May 15, 2024 https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/und-recruit-leading-fargo-force-in-playoffs Quote Mac Swanson had a brilliant regular season for the Fargo Force in the United States Hockey League. He tallied 77 points in 55 games, tying Jackson Blake for the most by a UND recruit in the last 20 years. He was named the USHL's Player of the Year and Forward of the Year while helping Fargo set a single-season wins record. Swanson has been even better in the playoffs. He has tallied 16 points in 10 playoff games, doubling all but one USHL player. The Force are one win away from their second Clark Cup in team history. 6 Quote
brianvf Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Quite a season and postseason for Swanson. He was named the Clark Cup MVP as well. Can't wait to see what he can do this fall at UND! 3 Quote
burd Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Sure, Berry can recruit elite scores; I only wish he knew how to get the grindah shot-blockers. Sigh— I guess we’ll just have to settle for what we get. 1 Quote
