Nobody here is an Oshie, Boeser, Toews, Parise, Bochenski, Frattin, Sanderson. Guys like that can lift a team. Boeser was the last guy to really do it, and he was a freshman (hurt sophomore year). Berry hasn’t recruited that top end talent that we’ve been accustomed to, and it’s showing.

You obviously have a very keen eye for evaluating and grading high end hockey talent.  For those of us who don’t have that skill could you detail the shortcomings of Swanson, Strathmann, Livanavage and Perron?

Reports on Twitter suggest former UMass recruit Michael Emerson now committed to UND!

A link would be good ... and now that you mention it ... lookee what I found for mine-self. :D

He's currently 11-13--24 in 20 games played for the Steel.

Would guess he'd be joining the team next season along with Perron?

...or... sooner?

Emerson would be the second oldest forward in the pipeline (Croal). Fall 2023 would be a safe guess.

Would be my guess too.

Roster
Definitely gone: F(2) - Hain, Senden
Potentially gone: F(3) - Albrecht (5th year option), Gaber (free agent signing), Caulfield (5th year option)

Recruits
F(3) - Croal, Perron, Emerson

If Gaber and one 5th year guy returns (or another recruit or portal guy), that would work out for forward numbers.

Good news! I was wondering if he’d be a realistic option but was worried about the whole being from out East thing

Why would we need another forward? UND is 8th in scoring nationally. Scoring goals isn’t an issue. Defense and goaltending is the main issue.

Bringing a forward in at this point in the season would make things even worse. These guys need to figure it out with the team they’ve got. Great get for the coaching staff here to build for next year.

Here we agree.
And it's not even a D.
And the pipeline G doesn't appear to be an answer right now either.

Play Johnson for a game. Make it clear the crease is open to first one to 0.900. <-- Yeah, just even that.

I’d be game for this idea. Many times the team will rally and play better in front of different goaltenders.
And if we got .900 save % each game, we’d probably have like 3-4+ more wins this season.

Top 3 goalies in the leave by GAA are all uncommitted. They’re all in the top 4 for save % too. Just saying.
