Maybe but he still had to get the job offer. Let's take the high road and wish him and his family well. He was the interim coach before the hiring and kept things together.

No one is wishing him ill will. But we can also desire better. Hard for some to differentiate the two around UND, hence the reason we were stuck with mediocrity and Bubba for so long.

Anyways, on to the next thing. As said before, hopefully this is a win-win for both parties.

Or maybe kids too young to bring to game?

They may be young, but it's a heck of a lot easier to bring kids to an indoor game at the Alerus than freezing your knuckles off at the Huntington.  Housing costs and taxes will double too. Based on the last 5 games I surely won't miss him. Now he can join PJ winning 6 bottom feeder games and going to  some obscure bowl game that no one watches. How fun!

He was here two years…… what do you mean so long

he was all in for UND

This is debatable. He was always holding out for Minnesota Gophers, Big 10, or NFL, as his comments indicated. But, to his defense, many would be.

Anyways, onward. Big opportunity for UND football, as said.

That comment you’re referring to was in reference to being content with mediocrity and complacency while Bubba was head coach for 11 seasons.

Don’t have to be critical of individuals and their families while also recognizing a need to move on … this is division I collegiate athletics and the numbers are growing every year.

I would sure hope we aren't after coaches that want UND to be their last stop. I would hope all of our coaches are all in on UND while they are here.  But it's pretty safe to say that most all be gone in 5 years, including Schmidt if he's done what we hope he does.

Gordie has to be the betting favorite. Maybe Schmidt has someone else lined up but have to imagine this possibility was discussed when Gordie was brought here.

Gordie has expressed his desire to be a coordinator, so agreed he is the most likely.

Agreed. The Assistant HC reporting to the OC is a weird setup.

Expect the unexpected. Big things happening …
