I don't know what we are waiting for - I suspect Schmidt won't do anything - if so any disasters like this year are on him.

Why does Schmidt get a pass for this year?  Didn't there used to be a "buck stops here" saying people trotted out or is that extinct?

As I Bison fan I have no problem with ISU winning.  Not due to conference affiliation, moreso out of respect for Spack....which maybe that's due to conference affiliation otherwise I wouldn't know !@#$ about him.  Villanova coach seems like the real deal as well, enjoyed his emotions after the win yesterday.

I as well was pulling for Tarleton, but after seeing the video with UND in the stands last week, was rooting for Villanova.

Not sure either of them will beat the MSU, MON winner however.

Another year of offense like the last 6 games and this program is in the toilet again.

A pass for going further in playoffs than UND has ever gone?

Extinct for now because of the enthusiasm generated by getting rid of Bubba.  Schmidt is totally responsible for offensive failures and horrible calls next year if he doesn't make a move.  Bewildering because I believe Schmidt is a good coach - but we all have blind spots.

Man, if I were the fan base of either Montana school, I would be salivating right now.  Play your biggest rival in the national semi-final while waiting on the other side is either a double-digit seed east coast team or one of the last four in the tournament.

Offense needs to improve. You aren’t the only ones aware of this. It will improve.

What exactly do you mean by a "pass?"  Implying he should be fired?  I know you probably aren't but get a grip...

Of course the offense stunk against better teams, I'm sure it will be a big emphasis in the portal (although it's not like you snap your fingers and get 6'3 220 WR running 4.5's to come to GF).  The offensive cupboard he walked into was not great and to retool that successfully in a couple months is like catching lightning in a bottle.  Unfortunately the JTG thing didn't hit.  Certainly if the offense doesn't show significant progress next year we have issues.

FYI.  Bubba made it just as far in 2016 and further in spring 2021.

Bubba did not make it further in 2020/2021 Covid-19 asterisk season (lost in second round just like 2025). Made it to same point. And 2016 UND didn’t win a playoff game; 2025 UND won a playoff game.

Schmidt led UND to arguably most successful division I season in just one season. Year two will be massive …

But we all became aware of it at least by mid-season - after the Bison game.  Yet absolutely nothing was done - we still were throwing 20 yard incompletions  on crucial 3rd down situations (a play that never worked)  for example  We saw absolutely no adjustments in play calling this season - none.  Are we to believe that now after the season is over the light suddenly went on and changes will be made - especially with the same OC?  I hope you are right but if we keep Isaac be prepared for more of the same.  He seems incapable of adjusting.

Fired?   Nope, not even close in my humble opinion,  why the offense stumbled and no noticeable changes were implemented is no not only the oc , but the hc....   4th quarter against Tarleton and looks like a repeat of previous work, but don't follow the path of what worked that Saturday....

LOL ok.  A road playoff win was unheard of and basically impossible prior to this year.

So was the Southern Illinois win, which was an ass kicking.

Cripes people, anyone who expected a championship contender in Year One of the Eric Schmidt Project was kidding themselves. The talent he inherited from Bubba wasn't terrible, but it wasn't elite either. I believe Schmidt has recruited elite talent in his first two recruiting classes and once they see the field, it will be easier to evaluate this regime.

First round bye>1st round road win.  I like what Schmitt has done before, but let’s not act like Bubba didn’t get us to this point before.  We need a coach that can get us past this point.  I think Schmitt can

Look a 3 win team to 5 wins, than 7 wins, than 9 wins.  At a time win Fcs football had better teams than now with less resources.  So yeah

We've lost in the round of 16 before... To Richmond?  We've also won in the round of 16... COVID year though.

more than that....they didn't even have the confidence to even think of running a fg kicker out there before half....

1/3 of your team that they had no confidence in from what ?  30 some...40 some?

My 12y/o grandson is making 35yd kicks. Only 1 in many from 40 though.

Throw in a top tier QB too… although I think we’re more likely to get better at QB via HS quarterbacks and development then what we could get from the overpriced transfer portal at QB

We desperately need a QB coach who can develop talent. Jerry regressed as the season went along and finished with 11 interceptions and < 60% completion rate both of which were worse than last year. I would excuse his dismal play against Tarlton cuz he probably shouldn’t have been playing much less kept in the game after it was clear he was struggling.
He has the physical tools as does Sulik. Whichever of the 2 can learn to get through their reads quicker and develop the confidence and leadership skills needed to audible out of poor play calls should be an upgrade over this past year. A QB coach is essential in their development.

Might be a guy named O'Connell available in a few weeks.
