farce poobah Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago If I read my tiebreakers right, if UND gets just 1 point this weekend, we lose the tiebreaker to Western. Criteria #3 in play. https://nchchockey.com/sports/2022/6/21/tiebreaker.aspx Denver could of course still finish 1 2 or 3. Quote

Denver would be able to tie for first if they get 6 from ASU to end at 52 points. 1 Quote

The Sicatoka Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago UND's magic number for outright title against DU is 2. UND's magic number for outright title against WMU is 2. The difference? Take a point against WMU it's worth double (earned by UND and not earned by WMU). Against DU it's earn two or them lose two (or some one and one combo thereof). Simple solution is best stated by Al Davis (RIP): Just win baby. 1 Quote
RedFrog Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Good Lord, I just don't want to see this team playing for overtime in a tie game with more than 2 minutes left in the 3rd period ... if even then. Play to win. Someone else said it somewhere ... but I am glad Arizona State has something to play for. Not only do they need wins to avoid the 9th place elimination spot, but they have some opportunity to move up as high as 6th. Maybe they can sneak a game or at least a point or two from Denver this weekend. Ultimately, I'm happy that we have a 5 point lead going into the final weekend. The last couple of weeks have been dog fights and I think will help this team realize what it takes and that teams are going to be giving you all they have in the playoffs. I'm optimistic they'll be able to take another step forward this weekend and gain at least a split v WMU. 2 Quote

Agreed, I'd almost rather have something to play for rather than "taking a week off" subconsciously if they'd have clinched Saturday... although a Penrose celebration at The Ralph would have been fun too. I have a weird hate for them thinking they are just going to come into the NCHC and dominate with their warm weather and being a P4 school. Also that coach seems like a dink. 1 Quote
ubish Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago You guys will win the penrose this weekend. I don't think we can sweep you, even at home. 1 Quote

burd Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago You don’t go into the reigning National Champions’ barn on the last weekend of the season when the conference title is at stake and come away with points—not if they’re legit champions. Western sweeps going away. Quote

Their storming the court when the basketball team beat #13 Texas Tech was hilarious. They just act like they are better then they actually are in everything. Quote
