I've been thinking losses to help revamp the coaching staff. What else do we stand to lose by losing? Maybe a better question is what do we stand to gain from winning? As a UND fan a win is always the preferred outcome. Like it or not Bubba is not going anywhere after this year. While I don't like where the program is at right now and wish Bubba was not given an extension last year, way more damage is done by the team finishing the season on a 5 game losing streak. Losing organizations get used to losing and winning organization get used to winning. It is not like Pro sports when you get a higher draft pick. Losing leads to poor recruiting classes and good players leaving. I'll be rooting for UND to win the last 2 weeks and hope corrections are made in the offseason. i.e. get rid of Chaves and replace the DC. News flash…… this organization under Bubba is already used to losing. Hence his road record and overall .500 record. 2 more losses to end the season isn’t going to make us go any lower. If anything it causes Bubba to leave and we actually get better. 1
Popular Post Oxbow6
My biggest disappointment is having watched Bo playing in this mess this season. One of the top 5 at his position since I have watched UND FB. He deserved better. 1

But that ship has sailed... This program is what it is...and if Bubba isn't going anywhere next year they're going to have a heck of a time selling tickets or drumming up any excitement for the program. Whatever it takes to drive change...I'm there. I hate that it affects human beings...but it is what it is at this point as a D1 program. There's no joy in any of this... Ideally Bubba moves to fundraising (to reflect his loyalty to the University) and Chaves is sent packing in my book. I doubt that happens...but until it does my interest in the program is very casual...
SIOUXFAN97
2 ways bubba can do this....run the same 22 guys out there and get blown out or mix in some other guys on offense and defense and see how talented/hungry they are and see what happens... got nothing to lose

Honestly, not sure if many others would. You would think so, but also, is there room at "like" places? I don't think anyone would decommit to downgrade the school. I think there's a fairly united front on this. The only thing that matters for this program is Bubba is no longer the coach. Anything residual (players leaving via portal, decommitting) is fine. Ideally, Bubba will step into another role within the athletic department after this year and the talent will stay. Note: I do realize how gross this really is. Hate that it had to come to this. Equal blame on Chaves as well as Bubba. Agree. Was told that many of the commits did not have other FCS offers so I'm doubting that they would decommit to go DII. As far as other offers, I'm just going by what others posters have said here.

Lose both they are a losing program. Losing the last 2 is not going to do anything to change the HC for next year and probably the year after. Mind as will win the last 2 and if we missing the playoffs at least the players will have a good feeling going into the offseason.

It’s complete blasphemy and apathy at this point… but I (always) hope UND wins. The extension to Bubba occurred despite at least a year plus of banter that no more extensions should be given, and yet it happened, and coaches left to lateral positions at conference rivals (NDSU, SDSU). This whole thing has been a disaster in the making for months to years. Very hard to support the current direction, and yes, it comes down to everyone; Bubba, Chaves, and even Armacost.

Sure, win, win, win, but realistically we all know Bubba is not capable of winning, so I suspect they will lose at least 1 of the next 2 if not both. It’s laughable that we speak as if the extension was put into place with even the remote concept it was a good idea at the time… because it wasn’t. 1

LDL
USD 2-deep lists them using the 3-4 defense. their starters go 275/320/300 with 2 backups going at 300/305. Linebackers go 255/215/230/225. They seem to be able to get the right sized linemen for that defense.
