When you put it that way it's even more pathetic from a team production standpoint. How many 30+ point guys did DU have again this past season? Quote

One was gone, off the roster after his So. season. One combining his So. and Jr. season point totals didn't equal his Fr. point total. Seems hard to blame everything on either players for how their productivity at UND evolved. So again I'll ask.....where's the pursuit of development? Was pleasantly surprised with both their freshman performances. And as later round draft picks at the time, thought they could both end up as 20+ goal, 40+ point players for the Sioux as seniors. Welp, here we are … 1 Quote

Maybe Berry could chime in on his situation? Hah, see what I did there. I am not sure we will be a player in the near future for NIL deals for incoming freshman and transfers but would hope we could be a in a situation where if a player is leaving for an ECHL contract, an AHL contract, or even signing his NHL/AHL ELC where all signs indicate he will be spending at least his first season in the AHL that we would be able to offer 60K or 80K to the player if we wanted him to stay. I have no earthly idea. I’d be curious to know as well. Certainly wasn’t due to a lack of playing time. He was solid and I’m sure a big part of Mayotte’s plans for the season to come. Quote

brianvf Posted April 28, 2024 Author Posted April 28, 2024 I can't imagine Michigan throwing Werner a ton of NIL money to get him to leave CC. I'd guess that something else is going on that had him enter the portal. 1 Quote
brianvf Posted May 2, 2024 Author Posted May 2, 2024 This sure is a different way to announce your portal transfer from NMU to RIT. Hints of trouble in NMU-land? Quote
